I like how both coordinators sound. Of course we were listening closely for anything that could've tipped their hand in terms of QB plans. Waldron was being extremely careful early on, but I felt like he said 2 or 3 things that leaned towards Fields returning. These included comments about what he liked about the current players on offense. He tried to refrain but he mentioned Fields skill set. Then he talked about positively about his development. And the fact that he's exchanged messages with him can all be viewed as positives for keeping Fields.

I’ve been loyal to many front offices and players for the Bears over the years… this feels different! Poles has been so calculated with rebuild. The hiring process of the OC this time around… felt different (in a massively good way)! Interviewed all the top candidates but jumped on hiring Shane Waldron before someone else snatched him up. If this front office has shown us anything…. It’s that they are not afraid to take risks but that they always have a solid plan in place. We owe it them to decide what is best at the QB position. I love JF1 but I trust this front office if they think Caleb Williams can take us to the next level.

I don’t care about the record, I don’t care about how good Caleb MIGHT be, I don’t care if Fields is the guy (I think he is…) but I find it impossible not to warm to Flus, just want the guy to succeed alongside Poles, who, if we all shut up and start putting our faith in, MIGHT change this franchise around… writing this from the UK, where football teams go through ‘transition’ and ‘growth’ period for 3-8 years….we seem to give someone 5 minutes and if we don’t win the SB fans are calling for coaches to be hung, drawn and quartered!

Everyone is tired of the losing. Past 5 years it's been the same old crap. Under .500, 2 losses every year to the packers, no playoffs, coaching ineptitude, blown games, draft busts, bad free agent signings, etc.etc. Bears are currently on 10 game active losing streak to the packers. Most fans find this unacceptable

You see the last game of the season and playoffs? Detroit and Green Bay looked very formidable. Bears were nowhere near that talent and level of play so I would be very surprised if the bears end up even close to the top of the division next year.

@@mikelasjo6507gb just has had us figured out. Their offense will always steamroll us no matter how good our defense ever is. Shows how important a good coach really is especially Lafleur. The only thing the bears can do is get an offense too high powered for even Green Bay to stop which mhj would really help in that, whether it’s with fields or Caleb, but would be much easier to get with fields.

I hope the following doesn't happen BUT...I can see a scenario where the Bears trade Justin Fields AND move down in the draft and get a lot of picks for doing so. So that means the civil war in a way satisfies both sides; the Bears didn't draft Caleb and Bears didn't keep Fields. As a result, they draft the QB Drake Maye out of North Carolina, which is where Trubisky came from.

I think a proper phone call would have been more appropriate when dealing with your future QB. I think it’s all said and done. We are getting a new QB and I for one am so excited to move on to a new QB. BEAR DOWN!

I am a Justin Fields fan and like the idea of trading back again for a massive haul, but I understand the allure of taking Williams or Maye for four cheap years. It is a difficult choice.

won't be difficult if he busts and JF balls out somewhere else. This is why players come here to die we have no faith. We knowingly every man can say we didn't help JF one bit with what we put around him and to coach him. But then next breathe say let's get a new toy. We have the record for most QBs for a reason. No one to ay under that. We are a lease it team we don't buy shit and then wonder why we ain't good. We have fucked over Fields and when it csn finally be his time to shine we want someone else. We don't develop anyone we either get a good player or we don't. That's why we are decent every ten years or so. We get a couple good years of picks. Then we squander them away. Don't you wonder how you can have the most players in the HoF yet only one fukin SB! Does that seem like a player issue 🤔? We are a founding member and the Baltimore Ravens have as many SB wins as us. Bears fans like the talking heads deserve and are actually responsible for the record we have as well as the stigma.

The starters we will draft using multiple round 1 and 2 picks received by trading down will more than offset any mid range contract Fields will get. By the way, we still have the 4th year in the rookie deal and 5th year option at $22m.
