All I can say is wow! GP30's are one of my favorite EMD's, and seeing this video of one makes me happy! Happy to know that someone's using their older power, this one looks brand new, with it's fresh paint! Great job!

This very lovely (not only in how clean it is) loco is a sight my eyes have never seen. And the horn has a beautiful sound to it as well.

Boy that GP39-2R sure does look smart in the fresh paint job! She's also a recent renumber to 2815. I don't see her listed anywhere. The close shots you got didn't yield a frame number, but with the AC units, I strongly suspect ATSF parentage. Gotta wonder how long this blue bonnet will keep moving the locals. Beautiful video, and well edited. Really awesome work!

Wow thats pretty cool! The first shot was taken just west of Western Ave, and just south of the BN, on the east side of the tracks. And Im not sure, I think the derailed around the wye a couple of summers ago, but its all cleaned up now.

@lionel153 Actually its a GP30. Built in the 1960's for The Burlington Northern (BN). But now it has been rebuilt and re-painted into a BNSF H3 GP39-2R. and Thanks!!

Hey chicagojoe, nice vid. But man that's a lot of flagging crossings for that crew. what a pain in the but. I was a switchman for the CNW and worked an assignment that had a few crossings to flag but not this many. One assignment I had was an afternoon yard job that switched the industries within yard limits. There was one industry that I always wanted to switch BEFORE sunset. It had no signals or gates, just a crossbuck. Folks just were NEVER expecting a train at that crossing and it was ALWAYS a big surprise for many as they whipped through the crossing and saw a centerbeam lumber car. I figured I had a better shot at being safe if I shocked them in the daylight vs shocking them in the dark of 9:00 pm.

@quimbyt I was looking into it but did not find much info. I guess it was some sort of yard transfer to/from and they pulled it to hard over the curve. it happened earlier this summer.

Im not sure that you can get down there with out trespassing or knowing the crew. And CIRY's Orange and Black switcher is still there. I also Have seen people shoot Domino from the other side of the water or a bridge! good luck

Definitely not a very well used track about mid-way through; so overgrown. I find it funny (yet annoying) when the railroad crossing lights are going off & the bells going and cars STILL cross. I REALLY hate that; not just because of safety, but because....well just cause lol
