I love how intentional Chick is with every note’s articulation. He’s one of those rare examples of a jazz pianist who I can identify by how they touch the keys alone.

Much as I love Chick Corea, this piece never really touched me. The transcription is unbelievably brilliant though!

that's interesting, I've been loving this one lately. I first heard it in the newer antidote album with the big spanish ensemble, where its more refined. if i first heard it here i dont think it would touch me much either

Parts of the 3/4 sections I'm hearing 4/4. Is he playing poly rhythms?

usually it's a syncopated 3/4 with 2 over 3. but yes also polyrhythms

Parts of this are like "oh that looks easy to play" but when you play the notes it sounds nothing like when chick plays it 🙄
