Happy Saturday morning Cheekyricho, I just acquired a 2 well Wolfgang Puck Pie Maker, and it did not have the Pie Cutter with it……so I wondered if you would know the size of Cutter needed for Tops and Bottoms of Pie Crust …providing that you do have that Pie Maker….It has 2 Deep Wells…thank you for your help!! As always, Carmela❤

Gee Carmela, I’m away at the moment and can’t measure my cutters but mine is a Sunbeam pie magic and an Anko Kmart brand one. I don’t even know if they sell the Wolfgang puck models here in Australia or if they are the same, I’m afraid I’m not much help this time perhaps you could contact Wolfgang Puck Customer service with your enquiry. I’m sure they would be only too willing to help. They may even have them as replacement parts. It’s definitely worth a try. Good luck with your new pie maker, I know you are going to love using it. Thanks for watching.;-))

Thanks for the great tip Dianne, hope our viewers find it helpful too. I’ve bought some great things from Kogan and been very happy with the quality and price as well. My little Sunbeam is decades old, still going strong and making pies for the ‘Grandies’ now. It was pretty expensive back in the day but I’m still getting my money’s worth. Glad you like this recipe and thanks for watching.;-))

I just subscribed to your wonderful Cheekyricho cooking channel. You give me so much inspiration too 😊 i hav the Sunbeam 2 mini pie machine and am becoming Mini Pie Crazed and now have also ordered 2 Masterchef Mini Pie makers as I really feel like if you only have 1 mini 6 hole Machine, you have to repeat to make 12 and so having 2 is easier to get the job done, lol…also if you don’t mind letting me know if the Portuguese Custard tarts you make taste authentic and crunchy and do they freeze well….as I would like to make them for Christmas family dessert….can i freeze and then will the consistency be crunchy when they defrost? You are a wonderful teacher to all of us Pie Machine newbies….Blessings of Love and Peace- Carmela from Ontario, Canada….❤

Wow Carmela, I am Truly humbled and touched by your lovely comments. Welcome aboard our Happy band of followers, we hope you enjoy our food journey. Whilst I haven’t frozen Portuguese tarts I do freeze my home made puff pastry and always have it on hand to quickly thaw and make a batch of whatever. Cooked Fruit pies and quiches particularly freeze and reheat well but I like to thaw them a short time and then pop them into a cold pie maker, turn it on and reheat it that way. By the time the pie maker heats up the pie is freshly crisped , not overcooked and has that irresistible’ just baked aroma’. The tarts would make a perfect Christmas dessert, less traditional than usual Festive treats but very enjoyable. I had a 4 pie sunbeam for many decades and I literally used it to death. I then got a Kmart 4 pie version., a 2 pie version, a four sausage roll Maker and an 8 sausage roll Maker then a family sized pie maker as a request by a viewer. I difficulty justifying the family one ….. until I got it and I love it . I’ve cooked baked dinners for one in it. Pasties, baklava, custard tarts, quesadillas, omelettes, quiches and so much more. You are going to have so much fun with your appliances, I’m really excited for your discovery of new recipes and ways to prepare lovely meals and treats for your family and friends. Thank you so much for your interest, kind comments, question and letting us know a little bit of information regarding your pie journey. Thanks so much for watching.;-))

Thank you very much for your terrific feedback, we have a lovely mushroom stroganoff on our channel that would be perfect for your dietary requirements. We also have both a vegan and vegetarian playlist, gluten free, dairy free and low carb options. We try very hard to provide content for all of our viewers, we do requests and love a challenge. We hope to bring you lots more interesting recipes and ideas. We have about 35 years experience with a pie maker and have well over 100 unusual recipes ideas for use in the pie maker, the sausage roll Maker and family pie maker along with sandwich maker and waffle ideas. We have been showcasing these appliances for more than 8 years on our channel and quite frankly are surprised it has taken this long to be ‘discovered’ lol. If we haven’t done it yet..... we will soon! We also have a couple Spanakopita recipes posted to help you. I’m very excited for your pie maker journey, no more wasted leftovers for you. Thank you very much, Melbourne has had some real Covid issues this year, I hope your family is safe. So many of my viewers have had trouble getting their hands on a pie maker, I’m glad you found one to use in your kitchen. We love USA, having travelled there numerous times, our last trip included a Maui, Oahu, California then we boarded the Amtrak and travelled across the entire country to New York.rented a car and drove up to Maine, across the Adirondacks across to Buffalo, into Canada back down through Pennsylvania to DC and flew home from Newark. I think it was the best holiday we have ever had and can’t wait to go back. We saw so much stunning scenery. Although I have travelled to the USA so many times in the past this trip was an absolute highlight. If not for commitments back home, I would’ve happily stayed for a year. My previous trips have only been to the west coast, the trip across the middle and the north east coast was stunning. I don’t know if you have visited Australia but we are a friendly bunch and would make you very welcome. Maybe will will see you Downunder to catch up with your relations in the south. Warmest wishes from 🇦🇺 Australia!

You can make it on the stovetop or in a pressure cooker, in fact, I adapted my old favourite recipe to use with the Cook4Me, to help our viewers trying to get the most out of their c4me appliance. These pie makers are ok i just wish they would make one with detchable pie moulds there a right bugger cleaning when a pie goes wrong !
@CheekysKitchen
@CheekysKitchen 4 жыл бұрын
That is a very good point Granville Bennet, I have bought an ice cream scoop, sometimes called a cookie scoop, I find it keeps spill overs to a minimum. If something does make a mess I close a piece of wet paper towel in it as soon as the the offending pie is removed. While the pie maker is still hot, that turns to steam , when it cools, I just wipe it clean with the damp towel and discard it. I always wipe it out with a clean damp wash cloth before storing, that way any salt residue in the pastry doesn’t remain to affect the coating. I think the reason the pie plates aren’t removable is to ensure spills don’t end up in the ‘workings’ of the unit. Some appliances have interchangeable plates, which are a good idea, increases the versatility of the appliance, waffle iron, sandwich maker and bistro plates interchangeable but you have to purchase the extra plates separately and they aren’t cheap. I do like the interchangeable plate idea though, it’d free up a bit of my cupboard space. Lol. Thanks for the feedback and for watching.;-))

Hope it helps you, it doesn’t happen often but it is certainly annoying when it does. Try portioning the filling and pressing lids down firmly on the edges. I had one leak recently when my grand daughter ‘helped’ placing the lids on, one was a bit lopsided, it managed to empty some of its contents into the little frilled edge. It was well and truly baked on but the wet paper towel worked.

Do you have to cook four pies at a time or can you do just two?
@CheekysKitchen
@CheekysKitchen 5 жыл бұрын
Thank you for your enquiry Gloria, you can cook only one if you want. Sometimes if I run out of ingredients I will make less than four pies to use it all up. The results are exactly the same with however many you choose to cook. Hope that helps, thanks for watching and the Merriest Christmas to you.;-))🎄

Thank you very much for your very thoughtful and relevant feedback. It is greatly appreciated. I fear I would go broke as I cook for taste not for profit and my portions are generally on the generous side. I am happy helping people to get the absolute most out of their appliances and ingredients and during Covid people had to learn to cook and seemed to appreciate my no nonsense style with a varied and extensive recipe repertoire. I am very proud to have encouraged inexperienced cooks to prepare tasty and nutritious food for their families some for the first time in their lives. Cooking is a lifetime skill that is not valued enough these days and when something like Covid hits, home cooking and meal preparation really comes into its own. I have worked in several restaurants, takeaway shops and meal preparation establishments. I have grown my own food and have lots of experience with dressing a beast and preparing freshly seafood for the table. I started cooking and inventing recipes back in the mid 1960’s so you see, I’m a little too old to be starting up a business. My past catering experience is now being utilised to keep my family, friends, neighbours and unexpected drop ins and all their families well fed and well stocked with goodies, especially during festive times and special Occasions. As you can imagine , no one leaves my table hungry or my house empty handed. I am always looking for ‘victims’ to feed and share my experiments with lol and have never been short of willing participants. I thank you very much for your kind words and hope you and your family are staying safe snd well in these difficult times.;-)) oh and Thanks for watching👍😉😋

I saw that too, very clever. Wwe bought a bag of carrots for juicing. unbeknownst to me the carrots were all shapes and sizes. My Little Mouse (grand daughter) was in hysterics at some of the shapes, many looked like animals and tools, especially when her crazy nanny got a carrot man to ride a carrot horse across the kitchen bench, well you needed to use our imagination , lol. Darling Sandra, a small “ t “is a teaspoon and a large “T” is for a table spoon. My sincerest apologies for not replying sooner. Our home was flooded and we had to be evacuated by boat from the top floor We have had teams of people assisting us to pull out furniture, carpets and walls. We have insurance but not for flood . Apart from being displaced we have had no internet or phone service. I couldn’t access my comments even if I hadn’t been so busy clearing the smelly mud from my house. I hope this helps, thanks for watching and again sorry for the late reply .;-))
