These wings don't need to be covered at anytime. They will not brown properly if covered. Also, the bullion cubes are totally unnecessary. I just had some that I was trying to use up. I can't really give measurements for most of the recipe because I don't know how much chicken that you are using. You can use any part of the chicken that you like, it does not have to be wings.

Hahaha Damita, lord seems like you have my kind of timing. Well for right now you just watch but later you can eat it. Good news is you'll probably be eating1/2 wing and a tablespoon of gravy and 2 tablespoons of rice and be full. That's what we all want to be satisfied with just a small portion. You just took a big step for your life. I'm pulling for you and praying that this new year will bring you many blessings of health, wealth and true happiness. Hugs and thanks for watching.

I make this dish often!! Born and raised in the South, and I made it tonight and decided to see how others make it. I came across your video and immediately subscribed! I make my very very similar to this... but instead of the flour mixture I use cream of chicken and mushrooms soup by Campbell, I use chicken broth vs water only 1 cup to 2 cans because the broth made from the chicken will merge. I whisk and pour, then slice onion over it and bake again for 10 to 15 mins... 🥰🥰🥰 my husband loves it. It's my short cut version, but I am and have used the flour mixture if I don't have the soups on hand. I'm glad I have been on the right track.

If you did not know this I thought I would share a tip. If you have time coat the wings in baking powder and place uncovered in the fridge for about a hour. It will soak up all the moisture out of the skin which will allow it to get crispier. Take out and season and cook in oven. I cook mine on a rack that elevates them off the pan to stay out of the grease if I am making hot wings out of them. Gonna try this recipe! Looks great!

Yippeeeeee! Cleaning my spice jars when I discovered the jar of powdered chicken bouillon I bought recently. I am eating this delicious chicken now. Rice and lima beans cooked to perfection in my pressure cooker. I knew the chicken would be perfect, but I added chopped yellow bell peppers, onions, and poblano peppers before the gravy. (Shook the gravy in a mason jar - no lumps.) When I plated the food, I squeezed fresh lemon juice over the lima beans and rice. I buttered a big slab of my homemade herb bread to eat with this meal. Absolutely no doubt I will be making this entire meal again. Delicious, delicious, and delicious! I respectfully bow down to you, my favorite mentor of chicken. Can't promise my first born child, but many of my future dishes will have you to thank, my friend.

I ran across this video yesterday and it changed my life! Smothered chicken wings is my favorite dish! Wings are basically the only part of the chicken.that my family eats. I never made gravy because I didn't feel like the hassle. This dish was absolutely delicious! You're my hero!

Awwwww, thanks for your kind words Dabora D. I'm glad that now you know a quick and no fuss way to make gravy and of course you can thicken or loosen the consistency of the gravy by decreasing or increasing the water. Be blessed

i have to say i have never seen or heard of anyone making gravy like you did, where i'm from its always done in a skillet on the stove top starting with some type of grease and flour browning then adding water then milk and cooking it down, and of course seasoning it with salt and pepper somewhere during all that. :) at first when i seen you weren't going to cook it in the skillet i thought you were going to put it in the microwave or something lol, i had to watch the whole thing to see exactly what you were going to do :) one tip, since you do add water, why not dissolve the boulion cubes in like a cup of hot water, then add it to the rest, makes that part pretty easy :)

+aleiakay Hey aleiakay, sometimes I do make my gravy the way you describe. It just depends on what dish I'm making and how I feel. I usually opt for the non labor intensive way. You must try this gravy it is so smooth and creamy and never a lump. Absolutely fool proof. aleiakay, thanks for the tip but girl truth be told my bouillon cubes were so hard because they were old and dry. I didn't realize it until I was into my video so I just had to make it work. But let's just keep that between me and you. lol Thank you so much for taking the time to comment, Miss Aleiakay.

@conscut
@conscut 8 жыл бұрын
your food looks so good. you are so funny. you remind me of my grandmother. cooks that don't measure should never give measurements because they always give you the wrong number. Im falling out laughing in memory of my grandmother giving me recipes saying "one teaspoon baby" as she shakes in a half of a cup or "just a tablespoon of this" as she pours in half a gallon of liquid. lol. Classic. PS. that ring is Ginormous!!

+conscut Hi Conscut, I enjoyed reading your comment. I am laughing cause it is so true. I can hardly cook by a recipe unless it's baking. My hope is that I can give enough info and explanation that viewers get a real feel for what works. After a while you'll get where you can smell a food cooking and tell if it has enough seasoning or is done. I call it cooking by instinct or feel. But I am trying to become more accurate. lol Thank you sweetheart for commenting.

I don't think I've ever taken the time to comment on a food video before, but I had to come back and rave about how amazingly good this recipe is. I consider myself a good home/soulfood cook and honestly expected to be underwhelmed with this. However, it looked so good in the video and I wanted to smother chicken without frying it so I gave it a try despite not really expecting much. I can admit when I am wrong, and I am screaming I MISJUDGED THIS RECIPE! It was so good....and LORD that gravy!!!!! This recipe will become a family staple and one I will pass down. I didn't have enough wings on hand so I did wings and chicken thighs and it all came out perfect. Thanks for this awesome recipe.
