Short sequence from animated doco Once Upon Australia, broadcast by ABC TV in 1995, which I produced, directed, and animated while working for the Natural History Unit. This shows the extinct flightless bird Dromornis stirtoni and chicks. The adult had an armature with ball and socket joints in the legs, which really improved the walk in those pre-framegrabber days. (The leg armature can be seen exposed in my walk tests, with bone length cut down slightly to use it for chicken legs.
