Chicony KB7601 (restored) - Alps SKCM White (linearized) sound test (2 of 2)

Go ahead, roast me for my amateurish title card! :-)
This is the Chicony KB7601 again, linearized, converted, and ready for years of service once again. The keys feel a bit different without the click leaves (duh) but overall the board sounds more or less the same.
I used mostly SGI Beige dyesubs, but there were a handful of spots where I had to use the original caps (bigass enter, split backspace, caps lock, that awesome 2u escape).

Thank you so much! ☺️ It was a custom order from Xraypad, I needed something smaller than the standard deskmat to fit on my desk's sliding keyboard tray.

Very cool indeed, I saw an item similar to this one listed on eBay a while back and I'm kinda sad I didn't snag it, but restoring a full keyboard like this is a little too much work for me lol, I'll just stick to the custom Alps build I'm working on!

Thank you! For USB I made a soarers converter using a pro micro. I used Dupont wire connectors to connect the converter to the PCB where the DIN plug attached, as shown here: imgur.com/a/Z3yxt3F

@@juchecatgirl Thank you, that makes a lot of sense. Using the wire connectors is a really good idea to keep the swap minimally invasive (maybe reversible as well?).

@@f4rtboss862 exactly, the new adapter just plugs into the original connector on the PCB so I can easily switch back to 5-pin DIN if I ever needed to. It's a much cleaner and more elegant solution than I expected to achieve.
