An English translation of the lyrics of Daydreaming. "Before Yesterday" is also a wonderful ballad. Daydreaming, don’t wake me up There's nothing I can do with a hoarse voice Stay next to me tonight Hold on, feel my soul As we swayed under the moonlight Our shadows blended together Clumsiness intertwined I hope tonight does not end This may be wrong Though I thought it was over I still want to believe I feel more alive in this moment Daydreaming, dreaming of you So, I'm daydreaming, don’t wake me up There's nothing I can do with a hoarse voice Stay next to me tonight Don’t go I want to daydream, don’t let it disappear We cannot go back, so don’t go Stay next to me tonight Hold on, feel my soul Feeling the distance of this breath Somehow I love you so much Our shadows start to move And dissolves in the early hours This may be wrong Though I thought it was over I still want to believe I feel more alive in this moment Daydreaming, dreaming of you So, I'm daydreaming, do not wake up There's nothing I can do with a hoarse voice Stay next to me tonight, do not go Hold on, feel my soul I want to daydream, don’t let it disappear We cannot go back, so don’t go Stay next to me tonight Hold on, feel my soul lyricstranslate.com/ja/daydreaming-daydreaming.html

YOU: (pauses video and rewinds 30 seconds) "Feel free to tell me off". MAIDIACS: ".....................................(tumbleweed rolls past in the total silence of our response)..............." 🤣🤘 We never, ever, ever mind you pausing because you rewind back to before the bit you want to hear again...and we get to enjoy it again! We can watch the video any time in its entirety but we're here for your - always honest and open - reactions. 👍🤘 I love this song a lot - immaculately played and angelically sung by these 5 goddesses of Music, as always. They have a lot of superb official MV's and I'd have to recommend 'Blooming' and 'Rinne' and 'Don't you tell me' most of all...though they are only just ahead of literally everything else they've done. Also, for an amazing display of Saiki's beautiful vocal talents, I'd have to recommend the live version of 'Wonderland' - kzfaq.info/get/bejne/rpqYq6-WrcjViqM.html .

BAND-MAID's Kanami Tōno: "A good guitar solo will trigger emotions. I always keep that in mind!" Perfectly displayed in this very emotional solo. It´s one of my favorites, it´s not technical, it´s not THE BEST solo (for me Blooming), but it´s the most emotional solo i know... It´s also a song that Kanami is very proud of, because it was very difficult in songwriting and in terms of lyrics. Greetings from Germany, hope you are having a great day :)

For as great a composer and guitar player that she is, nothing that Kanami does is ever self-indulgent. This solo is the perfect crash-through of all the emotions that were building up throughout the rest of the song. Everything after it was the resolution of that solo, and it all just works so well together.

I often underrate Saiki's vocal performances. Her range and emotional rendition and Her rock voice are superb. But often I have to remember that along with Miku and her back up your emotions are being pulled into odd places before you ever find out what she is singing about. What a Band to find after all the time they have been around. Nice reaction to simply a wonderful multi talented band.

Chief 322--ohhh yeahhhh, I see you finally got to my suggestion! (one of the many who suggested it I'm sure). As you can now see, this song is absolutely spellbindingly gorgeous! It literally took my breath away and yes, gave me chills when I first heard it as well. There are so many elements involved in this masterpiece that it's a bit mindboggling how they all fit together into such a sublime power ballad. And I got a smile thinking, oh man--he hasn't even heard the solo yet-ha ha. That is so surprising isn't it, just brilliant! I totally agree, this band constantly surprises me, too, they work with the structure of songs in their own unique ways adding magical fills, riffs, and the like to conjure up their very special style all their own. The vocals of Saiki and then the harmonies Miku adds are lovely...can they be any better? As far as Akane's drums on this, I get faint reminders of Larry Mullen's type of playing and Kanami ventures into Edge's territory at times, giving it that pretty U2 type vibe, but it's all their own. Misa and her wonderful bass lines, hand in glove and compliment Akane so well...As you mention there is nothing that is cookie cutter or generic, they tend to "set us up" as listeners don't they? Unexpected musical sections and ideas come at you constantly. They discard songwriting formulas routinely. This song is true art--I can't wait to hear what other beautiful songs Kanami will come up with for Miku to add lyrics to. Glad you got to this one mate!

@@Chief322 Hey bro, I appreciate your kind words. Being fairly new to the band myself (only 4 months or so) I can't tell you how much I enjoy watching you react to their music! The frequent pauses were expected (ha ha), I knew you were going to have some sections play again and review. These ladies are jewels, I have to say what's so beautiful about them is all the positivism you feel and see from us certified Maidiacs is a reflection of the vibe they give US. From their music and genuinely humble attitudes, not to mention their intense work ethic, it just radiates out. The power of music, as you mentioned, is real-as we know there is nothing like it! The first week I listened to them I heard "about us" and I can't tell you how moved I was to watch that video. Sheer magic...I saw how much they cared about their fans and that drew me to them even more (I saw your great reaction to it and will comment on that thread later). I know you've been having tough days, carry on sir and know that your "thrill" (pun intended) of discovering their material is enjoyed! Cheers!

I think quite often the slower songs are more of a showcase for Akane's drumming than the faster songs. People can hide things with blasting double peddles on the fast stuff but placement and feel is everything when every strike is recognisable,. I know The Dragon Cries is a bit polarising in the fandom. To me it shows another aspect of what they can do and is probably the most old school rock influenced song they do next to Manners.

Completely agree. TDC is underrated to me, and gets a bad rep partly because of how relentlessly depressing the music vid imagery is, and partly due to the whacky data compression. But there is some marvelous songwriting there. That breakdown in TDC grabs my attention every time. I have to stop what I'm doing and listen intently.

Kanami's solo's make panties and boxers drop. lol She puts a lot of heart in her work, and its evident. Kanami and Akane are my bread and butter when it comes to Band-Maid. While others are still learning and visibly improving, and reaching new heights (Saiki is getting better at singing every single album, Misa same thing with her bass, and Miku with her rhythm guitar but still needs to improve her singing)...both Akane and Kanami have reached their mountain peak when it comes to hard work and talent. I dont believe they can improve any further...they seem to have mastered a mix of flawless execution and creativity already. I honestly dont know what else could they possibly improve on. Keep in mind this song is a few years old now? Its ridiculous how good they used to be...add more years of experience to that now.

MISA is acknowledged as one of the best bass players in Japan, male or female. There aren't many better than her. She finger picks, she uses her plectrum like a true shredder and is a fairly well accomplished slap-and-pop player as well. There's not much she can't do on her bass. Kisten to the entire 'Unseen World' album. She kills and dominates throughout.

@@geraldgetskow3420 oh yea shes great, but i dont think she’s peaked yet. Saw an interview where she said she wanted to learn to write music and play more of her own stuff. Kanami was helping her with that. We’ll hopefully hear some of it on the next album.

With regards to Miku's backing vocals, I do feel that you underrate it far too much. It is much harder for a backing vocal to come in and harmonise as well as Miku does. She is always on point with the timing, the gentle tone to balance Saiki's forcefulness, and to come in right on key is very difficult. She has much better key accuracy than Saiki. Which is why I tend to pay attention to her vocals in every song. It is rare to find such a great backing vocal in any band/group.

~is mad~ I think this is a good example of how you can have a simple song, but just make all the parts do neat things with interesting ideas, so it ends up with a lot of depth. There's a craft to writing and this is it! I liked when you got excited thinking about the arrangement - if you think about it, after the intro the whole thing is like one long buildup to the guitar solo, gradually adding more drums, more rhythm on the bass, more action on the guitars... it's a cool idea! I said it before but Anemone is definitely in this category for me, definitely listen to that one if you get the chance! But it's an album track, so it's audio only - there's a live acoustic version floating around (not on the official channel) but I'd recommend the studio one first. It has that kind of soaring desperation and I think the contrast makes the stripped down version mean more, if that makes sense? It's great anyway

Band Maid is my second favorite band, just behind Jinjer. If I were to break it down to genre, Band Maid, for me, is #1 in hard rock/jpop. Composition wise, I put them tied with Jinjer for #1 as they absolutely know how to compose music. Loved it Chief, what a great reaction. I feel like, music wise, we are kindred souls. You're so right about Akane's drumming - her "patterns" are often things that leave you wondering how and why she thought to play it that way - and yet they're brilliant. Then there's her general tendency to "contribute" more to the song without getting in the way, by getting creative and not just keeping time. I often use the comparison of two drummers that play completely different styles of music - one being the jazz legend Roy Haynes and the other being the crazed lunatic Keith Moon. Both of these drummers were the living antithesis of "just keeping time." Their creativity becomes an integral part of the song. You can say the same about MISA and Kanami a lot too, and that, along with their ridiculously great song-writing is what makes them so great, and what allows you to keep coming back to the same songs over and over again without getting the slightest bit tired of them.

Here it can be watched on Facebook. facebook.com/100005647411859/videos/1295685477296354 A few other older favorites are Clang - www.bilibili.com/video/BV1Ut411a7Bn?from=search&seid=17035429297872085031 Shake That (This is the "Photo Collage version.") - kzfaq.info/get/bejne/o9ygpbSg0t-7k6s.html Take the way-back machine for "Knockin on your heart" (Almost unplugged Acoustic version) way back from 2014... It had a cool "collage gig vibe" and I really liked Miku's vocals on it. kzfaq.info/get/bejne/bKeYrbKj07Kxh6c.html

Yep, that one's like a religious experience, although I think Studio Coast is a little tighter musically. (Plus the version of "Only One" that immediately follows at Zepp made _that_ song one of my favorites too.)

Nice reaction. Saiki's ballad voice....melts me every time. Then she transitions smoothly into that rock voice...and I'm gone. And the instrumentals weren't bad either... =)

I felt strange about this song. For my first time listening, I liked Sai-chan's gorgeous vocal and Mincho's awesome solo. For the second time, it was A-chan's drum caught my attention most. Third time was Miku's beautiful chorus, and finally MISA at the fourth time (volume is too low, imo, but MISA is definitely there!) At the end, every members shine as always. This is a masterpiece ballad with multi-facets❣👸☕🦍🕊🍺❣

I love this band, and it's not the amazing musicianship, nor their amazing song writing or lyrics, or the harmonizing. You may ask what's left? The dynamics of this band, the way they actually love each other and respect each other and their fans, it flows into their music. Also the call and response between Miku and Saiki, no other band uses it the way Band Maid does it.

Your Nightwish reaction brought me here, and I gotta say that you reacted to some pretty awesome stuff 🤘 You just earned yourself a new subscriber! ☺ Small feedback though on the titles of your videos: If somebody (like me at the moment) is browsing through your channel on the phone, you don't see neither the band name nor the song you are reacting to.... just things like "this got me", "metalhead reacts", "this is epic" and stuff like that... Unless that's a tactic of you (which is fine for me), I'd place at least the name of the band at the front (like "Sabaton reaction" or sth like that). Sorry for my rambling, just thought to bring this to your attention... just in case you weren't aware of it 😉

"I have no idea to this day what those two Japanese ladies were singing about. Truth is...I don't wanna know. Some things are best left unsaid. I like to think they were singing about something so beautiful it can't be expressed in words...and makes your heart ache because of it. I tell ya, those voices soared...higher and farther than anybody in a grey place dares to dream. It was like some beautiful pigeon (Po!) flapped into our drab little cage and made those walls dissolve away. And for the briefest of moments...every last Master and Princess felt free"... This to me is one ofthe their best songs...arigatou Kanami-san.....:) You can really hear her love of Carlos Santana in this solo!...lol And of course...it's even better live...\m/

Someone has posted the live version of 'Daydreaming' from their Feb 2921 streamed concert. Just spotted it today, it's been up for a week and will probably disappear soon so thought I'd better mention the link now. It's sublimeAF and mellower than the original that you loved so much but a real gem. Enjoy! kzfaq.info/get/bejne/l8yEo82YyN-Whps.html

Someone posted the lyrics below, and they're definitely worth a read. It lets you know why they wanted you to feel this way with the song. And I think that's a testament to the power of music in the hands of talented people like Band-Maid. You didn't have to understand the words, but the way the instruments were played and the way the words were sung, you can tell something's going on here that you should feel sad about. It speaks to you on a gut level. I mentioned it before and I only say it again in case you didn't get the notification, but if you want to chat music or whatever else on Discord my info's DarkChiron#6998. I know you don't know me insanely well, so don't feel pressured, just in case you need more people to talk music with.
