A Problem Child/Child's Play crossover would have ruled. The Healy's take in Andy as the murders start up again, with Junior playing his tricks on Andy to drive him away. Then he gets framed for Chucky's murders and has to rescue Andy in the third act, forcing the two to take on Chucky as a team. Junior vs. Chucky, place your bets!

Officially turns 30 today! One of the earliest horror movie I watched as a kid I didn’t see the first one for so long This is still one of my favorite sequels in the series; Alex Vincent’s acting improves playing Andy, love Christine Elise, she’s so beautiful but also puts up a good fight against the killer doll, the score is much more serious this time around, the kills are still creative, and Brad Dourif owns this role still Rest in peace John Lafia, thanks for directing a very worthy follow-up

Just missed the Jarts thing myself, but I did grow up with the 1st gen Slip-N-Slides. You know, the ones where you could scrape the skin off your entire leg if there was a single missed pebble under the mat, and had nothing at the end to stop you, so the combination of inertia and wet grass meant that you just kept sailing across the yard until impacting the nearest object head-first (usually a tree or fence), or flying down a hill or into a road. Also, EZ-Bake ovens without guards or safety measures so you could burn the shit out of yourself, and my younger stepbrother had this "toy" metal-melting kit to make little statues and pendants out of. It really is kind of amazing just how little of a shit toymakers gave until the late 90's, isn't it?

Holy shit! I forgot that Graeme Revell did the score! That’s rad... For y’all that don’t know, GR’s done a ton of film scores including The Crow, Street Fighter, From Dusk Till Dawn, Mighty Morphin Power Rangers: The Movie, and Sin City. But before he started scoring films, he was a member of an infamous Aussie industrial-noise band known as SPK. This was a fact (that a member of SPK went on to score films) that I only learned recently and it kind of blew my mind. If you’ve ever listened to Sozialistisches Patienten Kollektiv/Surgical Penis Klinik/SepPuKu, you’d understand my surprise that a member of that group would ever break out in Hollywood. It’s a cool trajectory for a member of a pioneering experimental band that I truly enjoy (while in the appropriate mood, of course... hahah!).

Sorry Jack! Chucky's Back! In my opinion this is one of the best entries in the series. Despite not reprising her role Catherine Hicks was constantly on set for the sequel to see her husband, Kevin Yagher, who operated the animatronic Chucky doll. At 84 minutes, this is the shortest Child's Play movie. Chris Sarandon was originally going to reprise his role as Det. Mike Norris from the first film, but his scenes were cut from the film due to budgetary issues. Christine Elise's film debut. Jenny Agutter has said this is one of the worst filming experiences she's ever had. The Good Guy doll Tommy is named after original Child's Play director Tom Holland. This sequel was released on the 2nd anniversary of the original Child's Play (November 9th). Originally, Phil and Joanne were named George and Mildred. Adam Wylie's first film role. This film is the debut appearance of Adam Wylie. Body Count: 7. This movie and Seed of Chucky (2004) are the only films in the series in which Chucky does not get shot at any point. Charles Grodin, Jeffrey Jones (who would later co-star with Chucky's actor Brad Dourif in Deadwood (2004)) and Tim Matheson (who would later play Henry Kaslan in Child's Play (2019)) were considered for Phil Simpson. Both Kyle and Grace Poole strongly resemble Karen Barclay and Maggie Peterson from the original film respectively. Like Karen, Kyle has short length blonde hair, while Grace, like Maggie, has brown permed hair. Like Maggie, Grace gets murdered by Chucky.

THIS is not only my favorite of the entire franchise but it's THE Child's Play--everything about it WORKS, from the characters to the look to the music to the suspense to the way the story goes, letting us follow both hero and villain from the very start with JUST ENOUGH backstory that we don't need to see the original, and we WAIT until the moment when Andy and Chucky meet again:):) Andy's further growth is great, from the innocent naive kid who just wants a best friend and is tricked for his trust into a kid who is still innocent but knows he has to protect himself because he can't trust adults despite trying to get along with them. His relationship with Kyle is so good and I absolutely love HER arc being understandably annoyed at the start and gradually opening up with him until she finally realizes he was right about Chucky and she risks her life to save him. Chucky killing Miss Kettlewell, from his crazed smile as he marches at her bleeding trying to crawl away from him to how the camera keeps zooming out with every whack of the yardstick! THAT FACTORY CLIMAX, that has to be the BEST climax in a movie I've seen YET this side of Jumanji, and Chucky is AMAZING in it as he ferociously chases them and continues to threaten Andy:):) That moment he realizes the chant didn't work and ERUPTS in fury only for Kyle to show up and knock the boxes on him is incredible! And of course the ending with Andy and Kyle going home, wherever that is, while the huge Good Guy on the sign waves at the audience as that creepy carnival-sounding music plays into the credits:):)

Hi Brad: Got the story on Gerrit. Don Mancini is a huge Brian DePalma fan (early flics) In Phantom of the Paradise, Gerrit played a character named Beef; arrogant drama Queen rock star who ends up in the middle of a grudge match between the film's villian (Swan) and a very PISSED OFF songwriter who Swan has put through hell and is currently incarcerating in a bricked up studio. The songwriter/ PHANTOM escapes his would be grave and threatened the life of the rock star, who has degenerated into a mental mess. Problem is, Beef is NOT believed when he tries to convince Swan's right hand thug, PHILBIN, *"There REALLY is a PHANTOM!"* Skip to ...1980's where Gerrit, (Child's play 2) plays PHIL, who doesn't believe Andy about Chucky. Coincidence? Nah. Just a bit of nostalgic fun.

Missed opportunity to have Brad Dourif not sing phantom of the opera as Chucky. That be a hell of a record scratch moment in one of those movies. Like he killed most of the cast did the big duet with the female lead and as she does her high note at the end Chucky reveals himself so her high note turns into a scream as she's killed on stage.

vividly remember the third one's opening... with the claw moving over and stabbing the pile of chucky doll left over, and it bleeding out... and the blood trickling down and 'transferring' his soul to a new body.. to find out all of that was originally intended to be part of the ending of the second is rather interesting.

How does Brad keep putting out top tier content on a such a regular basis and still have only 159k subs?!?! I'd have assumed he'd be over a million by now. Isn't there something we can do help?

I think his problem was that he exclusively did weird movies for years, and then still does alot of shit no one has ever heard of. Look at all his most watch vids and they are either the Christ-sploitation films or popular horror movies. He basically didn't pander to the mainstream crowd (which I am not criticizing him for, I love the reviews of weird shit). And now YT is getting harder and harder to succeed on, so the window of opportunity for that kind of growth may have passed.

I was always confused as a kid. I had all three of the original movies on VHS... dubbed off TV airings. And while my copy of the first movie was from HBO or Showtime, my copies of the second and third were from USA. So in addition to the cut violence and language, for years I knew the ending of 2 as having Chucky revived from his face landing in the plastic. Then part three opens years later with him being revived by blood. Confused me for years until I got internet access and the uncut movies on DVD and found out what I remembered was a deleted scene added back to the TV version.

0:58- But more on that film on Phelous's review from 2012, who also reviewed Child's Play 2 with the Nostalgia Critic that same year. 2:41- Nice RoboCop reference. 8:17- This is a weird alternate ending to Silent Night, Deadly Night. At least the Mother Superior dies in THIS version. 11:11- That reminds me. While most of the Child's Play sequels and remake might not be as well received as the original, at least they're not Black Devil Doll from Hell. I just realized that the climax is similar to the one in the original Terminator, but instead of a computer factory, it's a toy factory.

On Bride of Chucky they retconned the whole, poses the body of the person you come in contact, with some voodoo neckless bullshit Charles Lee Ray wasn't even using on the first Child's Play. Plus the franchise was renamed Chucky and he became the hero instead of Andy Barclay.

Luis Mario Guerrero Sánchez He needed to transfer it to the first person he revealed his true self to for a while but then after a while it was too late to do it that way so he just realized that the medallion (the movie called it an amulet but I’m pretty sure that’s wrong) was the only option left I’m pretty sure he was either too lazy to dig up the amulet or just completely forgot about it for quite a while I know I’ve had my moments where I was perusing something and then later realized “wait a minute there’s an easier way that I already knew about”

@@s.nifrum4580 Yeah, that's what happens on Child's Play 2, but as I said, Bride of Chucky introduces that amulet and pretends Charles Lee Ray had it all this time. But if you go back to the first Child's Play in no moment whatsoever, Charles is shown wearing said amulet. As I said, it was all retconned. But who cares? is just an excuse to bring Chucky back and kill more people, lol.
