I'm a single mom and one year things were pretty tight so I didn't get a tree, what I did was on Christmas eve I stacked her gifts in a tree shape and put the lights around the gifts and put a star on top. It wasn't a very big gift tree but the smile on her face made that Christmas the most memorable. I didn't come up with the idea, I seen it somewhere but it was the best. This was like 25 years ago.

Watching this at the end of January, and I celebrate Hanukkah, but this brings me such calm and happiness. Thank you guys for all that you do! You’re lucky Joob likes to be *fully* covered... I tend to spend 5-7am half asleep using my arm to make a blanket teepee for my black cat to sleep under between me and my partner... the meowing/pawing/walking over my face begins again every time I let the blanket fall all the way over him 😭❤️

@@cagepegger I’m sorry for your loss but whenever my mom got the fake trees with the snow on it my cats would eat it and someone would watch the tree so they wouldn’t do that but now she just will buy a white tree with no snow, now the little one tries to sneak in the back but the recliner can see behind the tree so we call her to get away.

My grandmother had a sunflower themed tree one year. Didn’t look like Christmas at all. The grandkids staged a revolt and Granny pulled out old ornaments and let us redo it.

When I did the color for the flames we cut the packets and spread it out over the fire it came out more vibrant and the whole things was colorful.

The tip jar, was placed perfectly, it made the lamp look like it had a moving lampshade when it would explode. Edit. I grew up with 2 trees, the fake tree in front of the house and a real tree in the back. Front was the fancy pro looking tree and the back was the one with all the homemade decoration. Edit2. The front white tree is up.

We used to do real trees every year but they've gotten so expensive. We finally got a $40 fake one, it cost less than one real one and we can keep using it.

Our tree is black, we put it up for Halloween and then just change the lights and ornaments (orange and purple lights for H-ween, lots of rhinestoned skulls, etc). It's current theme is Tom of Finland Christmas(NSFW).

We ended up doing the same thing when a whole section of the tree was blown. Wrapped with extra lights one year and then new tree the year after.

I'm in Saudi Arabia putting our Christmas tree up right NOW when I got this notification. I was actually outside shoveling sand into a 5 gallon water jug to use as a stand/base for the tree bc we lost part of the one it came with. It is all very Saudi 😂😂

You can get led lights in cool or warm tones, the warm tones look more like natural lights or like a candle's glow

I fixed our tree lights every year for 4 years (on a tree that was 5 years old when it started). The last year I replaced over 150 light bulbs out of 750. Last year I gave up and removed the pre-lit light strands and we now use LED strands.

i have a fake big tree and i usually get each year a small arangement or a wreath made of real branches so that i have the smell, but way less nedles cleaning to do once i get all down :)

I haven’t watched the whole video yet, I didn’t catch it live, but the tree looks like the one I set up in my front yard and comes apart in three or four sections. Most of those trees have the power connections to each section in the trunk. Looking forward to whether or not you figured it out!! My wife and I love watching you two!! Merry Christmas 🎄🎁!!!!!!!

The tree thing happened to my family’s tree as well! We had to go through every single lightbulb and find all the broken ones 😢 after awhile I we had all but one section and it’s still not fully lit up 😂 We have four cats and two of them (the youngest ones of course) always moves the tree skirt to the middle of the room! 😂

Hi guys love the recording, thanks for all the vids. Evan, here's a tip for fixing the tree. The tree has sections of lights, each section is wired in series, each series has the fuses, power is supplied to each series in parallel, but finding the plug where the series starts is a pain. Lol hope that helps. Thanks for everything guys.

How we decorate is we have one big family tree that's a mish mash and if we choose to family members have their own tree in their room which they can decorate however they choose. This year my personal tree is unus annus (black tree with silver decorations)

Consider reusable cloth for wrapping gifts. It's greener and more economical in the long run.

With wood fireplaces you need to keep the glass open to allow more oxygen to come in. When I had one we always had to open a window as well to allow for a draft. Just close the chain net in front Edit: also make sure you pull down on the pole to allow the smoke to go throw the top

Wrapping a pre-lit tree with lights gives me flashbacks to my folks who didn't want to get a long string of lights so they got like 30 small strings of lights so when I was looking at the warning of the strings of lights they say don't hook up more than 10 strings at a time or bulbs can pop and I look up at the tree to see one blub break and I jumped over the table to unplug the tree before it went up in flame. Now every year I get reminded that I did that because they laugh at me for that.
