to compound on this, you start off in the blue car you run to the end to stop it and an exit is there; you've literally gone to "THE OTHER SIDE", leaving your body behind - that's why you have to go back to where you came from; to head back to your body and back to the living world. that might also be why the sister doesn't call it the "blue car" but the "normal car", but that could be a translation error or maybe a pun/homophone that doesn't translate directly (kinda like how "shi" can mean "death" or "4" in english depending on the kanji used, and why most people say "yon" instead because using "shi" is considered bad luck [notice how the people all sat on rows of multiples of 4? 8 was skipped because that's GOOD luck due to the Buddhist "Noble Eightfold Path" or "Hasshōdō" which has to do with how to escape the life-death-reincarnation loop])

Ghost trains are a common trope throughout the world. Be it Silverpilen or the funeral express that ran from springfield to dc etc alot of it came about in the early days of railroad expansion where people would see white trains off in the distance thought it was a apperition because of how twilight would reflect off it. There are a few ways to input Japanese text in a laptop/computer: 1. Using IME (the Microsoft's input system). We can toggle from English text to Japanese text by pressing Caps Lock. When Caps Lock is pressed, all inputs are processed as if they were Japanese - and the same system you described above (letters are parsed into Japanese symbols) takes place. Words or short phrases can then be converted into Kanji by pressing the spacebar until the desired word is selected - for example, I can write きゅうこう by writing 'kyuukou', which can then be converted into the words 急行, meaning 'express (train)' or 休講 , meaning 'cancelled class'). Pressing Caps Lock again reverses text to traditional Roman characters, so we don't need to change language constantly. 2. Using Kana input. It's possible to input Kana individually without parsing it through Roman characters, and most of the computers bought in Japan have Kana associated with some keys. For example, one could write てんとう by pressing the keys 'wys4', as they are also the keys for て・ん・と・う respectively. The rest of the conversion process goes the same. This method is not really used conventionally: it's mostly used by those who are either used to traditional Japanese keyboards (which did not use IME conversion) or speed typists, as this drastically decreases the number of keystrokes (in the example above, てんとう can be written with 4 keystrokes, but the IME method requires 'tenntou', a total of 7 keystrokes).
