I've noticed that across all of the communities on KZfaq, the Synthwave community is the best. The majority of people here are really engaging.

Listening to this music at 2 a.m. while working and everyone else is sleeping. beautiful.

Life is short but nights are long.

brings back memories from when life was easy and my parents were still around, playing video games during the holidays til late at night and not having to goto work or school the next day, happy and sad vibes at the same time.

The term to describe the feeling you're all experiencing with this music is 'Anemoia' - noun. "Nostalgia for a time you've never known".

Maybe one day we’ll all live the lives we deserve.

I usually don't comment, but the comments section here made me want to send good vibes. Been feeling unsettled about life. But listening to this mix relaxes me.

I've realized I'm staring at this video for the last 20 minute. I'm fascinated by it, I feel nostalgic, like this place is where I belong and where I have lived in the past, but now I'm lost in some place I don't fit and I have no idea how did I get here. I miss this place. I miss that night. I don't know how, but I just miss it.

Driving on the freeway at midnight in constant rainfall for one hour, no traffic, and Vaporwave Synthwave mix playing is one of THE best relaxing times of my life. I wish it rained more often here in California.

This music connects me to a moment in 2005. I lived in Tampa, Florida at the time. Tampa is located on a peninsula in the middle of a large bay. There are very long bridges spanning across the water connecting to St. Petersburg. I remember, I was driving at night in late February across one of the longer bridges. My windows were down and my sunroof was open. The air was humid but mild almost cool. It swirled through the cabin in constant but gentle gusts. All around me the water was pitch black, with only the occasional buoy or boat light giving the impression of distant stars in the inky darkness. The nothingness stretched in every direction for miles. In front, off in the distance, I could see the lights of the buildings downtown. Behind me I could see the muted glow of the St. Pete suburbs. There were few, if any, other cars on the road with me. But regardless, I felt completely alone. Not lonely, or abandoned, or neglected, but present in the moment with only myself. To say I felt content is an oversimplification. It was fulfillment in idleness, but a yearning for activity. Excitement in existence, yet acceptance of mortality. I no longer remember where I had been that night, or even returning home. I only remember the moment. This music does not remind me of that moment, I could not tell you what if anything I had playing on radio that night. This music returns me to that moment, sailing through the night.

I remember listening to this playlist when first covid lockdown happened. I was still in college doing my assignments on these songs. Now I’m at university and listening to this beautiful playlist thinking of how easy life was before becoming an adult.

Why am I feeling nostalgic? I didn't even live in the 80's nor the 3000's

This is the only playlist that stays open on my chrome, 24/7, walking me through ....both nostalgic and futuristic paths....life is a mystery. a beautiful one.

Bathing in the sun. Enjoying the breeze and daydreaming about running endlessly across the sand into a purple sunset.

I never get tired of synthwave, it's truly magical music for me. It makes me homesick for a place I've never been, long for memories I never even made and nostalgic for a time I never lived. Now if that ain't magic, I don't know what is.

I wish I could meet someone I could share this music with.

There is this pocket of a few million of us who are longing for something greater but cant seem to find it.

I love synth wave! This is where we come to break free from the matrix. Where we belong, where we keep our future visions high, and the past memories as lessons. Where we come to dream as the eternal spirits we all are. We all know there’s something bigger and better out there. And we are very grateful to be part of the few aware of it. 😊😌

What took us so long to realize how wonderful being alive is? It feels so good to use our own imagination to see anything we want in life

I love when i'm on the edge of my window, watching the city in the night, drinking a cool energy drink, my neon headset on the neck, the retrowave vibes flowing in my ear, and chilling like that for hour... Everytime, i feel so lonely, but incredibly good.

i found these playlists in a dark time, and although i feel like i am late to a party i was never invited to, i got pulled in by the waves of music that make me ache in places i did not know i had. This inspired me to write and to create, and i hope that a fragment of this inspiration is found in my work. thank you.

Nothing like sitting down in your chair with a glass of literally anything and jamming to some synthwave

It reminds me of when I lived in seattle Id stay up all night on fridays to go driving at 1 or 2 in the morning running a loop along the 90 405 5 freeways driving in circles pushing my car to the limits when there was no traffic for no other reason to go fast just to feel alive. Looking at the lights in downtown as I drove by. Stopping at the same gas station to get monsters to drink so I didnt fall asleep at the wheel. Sitting in the parking lot by alkai staring at the skyline. Contemplating life. With a phone full of text messages I sent that never got replies and calls that all got sent to voicemail. Always alone. I always did these highway "runs" by myself and the funny part is I was alone but I loved it. I miss driving in circles with no destination just going and only stopping when I got to tired to keep my eyes open. There was no greater feeling than redlining 3rd gear as you come flying down the on ramp to the freeway with the window down and there would be this moment where everything would be so loud around me the sound of the car moving along the pavement the exhaust note screaming right before you hit the rev limiter the wind blowing and just for a second with all this noise everything in my mind went silent and anything I was thinking about was gone and I just stared out as I drove past and saw the sea of lights that made up the city and it was fucking beautiful...

The irony being that nobody actually listened to music like this in the 80s.

Have you guys ever thought about how fast life passes by? One moment I'm in elementary school sitting in time out, now I'm graduated, 20 years old, everyone around my age who i used to see as "the big kids" are here but I'm now one of them... Its like it all ended so quickly and i never appreciated living in the moment. You live your life out, marry someone, have kids, make something of yourself, cause if you don't, all of life will feel like school did. Gone in the blink of an eye.

I went to school in the 80’s. It was as amazing as this music is for the imagination. A wonderful time that has not been matched. People of all types loved sharing good times together. What happened? I’m still hoping the youth can find that type of vibe once again and run with it like wild horses...free yo mind :)

Beautiful mix. As an alt rock and metal person, I must say, my impression of DnB music has changed for the better with chillstep, chill-wave and the likes.

Man, I hope we get to this point in the future and most music is retrowave, synthwave, etc. I also hope there will be alot if neon lights.

Glad we can comment here. People say "dont feel alone, we're all here together" which is easy so say, but when you're staring at a screen with nothing but organized pixels its hard to feel. At least there are comments actually here vs being disabled... that always makes a video so much weirder. We're already in a state of such disassociation.. taking away interaction sucks. Im glad for each and every comment, even the shitty ones. They just amplify the good comments. Glad that we can have many differences in opinions but still find unity here.
