@@lucasmoreno2154 high off boresight means the missile is able to lock targets very far away from its boresight (The boresight being the area the missile sees when looking straight ahead) e.g. R-73 and AIM-9X The problem is that in order to take real advantage of HOBS missiles we'd need some sort of HMD (Helmet Mounted Display) so you can lock people by looking around, unleashing the true capabilities of the high off boresight. Otherwise it'll just be like any other missile in the game but with better countermeasure resistance and more maneuverability

The sa3 and hawk have to large of range for use in war thunder. Not only that but they are not independent vehicles they require multiple vehicles to work

It changes the predictive flight path for the radar lock target. Its always mouse guided regardless, but your mouse will follow a radar lock so.. For the crosshair on top of target, it guides just like every other saclos missile. This is the least efficient of the 3, as the missile doesnt predict where the target will be. For crosshair in front, it flies a little ahead of the radar lock and turns in toward the target when its about 0.5 km away from the target. This makes the flight path shorter in theory, but is easier to lose track on maneuvering target. For crosshair next to, it does the same as the last one, but now the missile aims at a point between you and the target. Theyre all different types of guidance and have advantages depending on the direction of the enemy in relation to you

Also quick thing, I could be wrong but I thought fox 1 is semi active radar homing which is the missile takes the information from the vehicle that fired it from its radar and not it’s own. If it had its own radar it would be a fox3

There is no FOX-1 here.) TOR does not use SARH missiles. It uses SACLOS. Radar on TOR is just another eye.

A lot of chaff can break the lock, I saw some pilots successfully doing that while playing.

Split S, drop altitude and chaff. You either saturate the skies with aircraft, or your going to have to bait all 8 missiles.

Do flares work against this mode? Bc if it's a TV guidance type of thing theoretically they shouldn't

And to defend against aerial targets as well, it has a secondary 10km missile and it has now a LOCK too.

They meant two missiles, one of them following the other .. not both of them at the same exact moment as far as I understood. Similar to Hellfire when firing two missiles at two targets and there is 7 or 8 seconds between them.

@@Hunter_i86 inn the demo video it takes out two heli's with fast sequential launch, I too cannot for the life of me figure this out. Warthunder is crap for explaining how there systems work. honestly how hard would it be to demonstrate how systems work?

It can 3rd person lock target, you need to be at radar mode, not IRST.

They ruined the sounds directions on ground and in air, this happens every time the renew the sounds so I hope they don't change it every two months.

@@Hunter_i86 i Noticed that most of the time now the sounds tends to lag behind the plane, like 6 meters behind the plane

I think so yes. Seems like there's a search radar (the one that spins) and a lock radar (the square in front of the missile bay)

No, you will not get RWR warning, and yesterday I was flying against a guy with TOR, he launched three missiles using the radar mode not IRST, I didn't get RWR warning too, we talked about it in the "All Chat", I don't know if it is a bug or not but the TOR lock mark is different, it is similar to TWS passive lock "The non-filled square shape", I was getting away from his missiles only because I was seeing the missile smoke trail, so I was just pulling off to get out of the 12km distance.

@@onerxowns2202 nah, recon drones can be spotted on every radar, those don't matter. We are talking about missile drones.

Use the radar and click in the direction until you get radar lock

It's lock radar is very efficient.. You don't even need to find them... Just look at the radar then look at the direction in third person view and spam lock key.. It will acquire lock within 3 clicks... IRST is weak
