The US-China relationship is at a crossroads. China and the US face a choice between stability and a “downward spiral,” Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi told counterpart Antony Blinken on Friday in Beijing, as the American diplomat kicked off a day of meetings with top Chinese officials. "Should China and the United States keep to the right direction of moving forward with stability or return to a downward spiral? This is a major question before our two countries and tests our sincerity and ability," Wang told Blinken. There is a long list of unresolved issues between the US and China including China’s support for Russia and Chinese "overcapacity" to its aggression in the South China Sea and toward Taiwan. The visit also comes at a sensitive time, right after US President Joe Biden signed a bill to counter China's military might and defend Taiwan, and a separate bill that could ban TikTok in the US. CNN's Kristie Lu Stout reports on the diplomatic dance between the two powers.
