In 1978, the Chinese government developed a plan to first achieve technological sovereignty and then become a world leader in science and technology. Boy, did they get down to business. Initially, millions of young people from the PRC were sent to the world's leading universities, mainly in Europe, Japan and America. They were given a specific task: to gain as much knowledge and experience as possible and implement it back in their country. The government, for its part, has continued to increase funding for education and raise the status of scientists and engineers over the past 4 decades. As a result, a major study by the Australian Strategic Policy Institute in 2023 found that China leads in 37 of the 44 most important and tracked industries, with the potential for monopoly in areas such as, but not limited to, nanomaterials and synthetic biology. In this video, we will walk you through the most incredible technologies China has to offer and compare that to what everybody else has. I’m Nick and today we do not cosplay Southpark.

We in the global south should thank our creator for creating the Chinese race, boy oh boy what a people. This country came when the world was desperate and sick to the back teeth of the cruel west. China is not the soviet union which was a union of individual nation states,so it is going nowhere. The west wants to annihilate China the way they did with the real native Americans and real native canadians. My prayer everyday to our creator is that God allows China to prevail, and shame the west. China helped its poor to get out of poverty and that is exactly what God approves of.... God bless China forever more. We in the global south are blessed to have them.

The US doesn't want to commit genocide. If anything it wants a regime change. I don't agree with it, just stating the reality as I see it. I find it arrogant to think your own type of government or culture is the best. It's best for you, cool. Keep it to yourself. If a country doesn't try to take another by force, let them be. But I also think anyone who does should be immediately driven back by all the rest. That should not be allowed in the world today. If two countries' people decide to merge, they can do it diplomatically with pen and paper.

google's big data leads me here, as a Chinese American, I feel I need to start polishing my Chinese languages and reconnecting my ties in China now. Majority of the US young people still live in bubble, consider the US "the World", like in most sports US champ is the world champ even it's not true and factual. That's a dangerous mindset in a multilateral world. In US, the best way to let other people know you're referring world in general is using global or international.

@@Rick-tf4dl As you probably suspect, to "steal" what knowledge WE have. That doesn't mean they haven't started moving forward on their own. They have. And considering the government gives STEM (and other) citizens free university, as opposed to the extreme expense of a US university education - how could anyone suspect they would NOT surpass us? Remember that as of January 22, 2024, China's population was 4.17 times larger than the United States' population. Of course there will be, on average, also be 4.17 times as many geniuses. Certainly you don't think the US has a patent on intelligence. The US will lose this battle. It can't win it using sanctions. And it won't do what it would take to win - like also give away free education in related fields (at least) and make it easier to recruit globally. As the video mentions, the only reason "we" are ahead is because we got a head start. I know it's a hard reality to accept, but it IS reality. That's why we need to focus on either how to become allies or change the gov't there. This message will self-destruct in 5, 4, 3...

I guess you've never been there. True, it's impressive what they have done, are doing, and will do. But it is not a free country. There was a period where it seemed that way, but increasingly it is less and less so. I think it's not that impressive what they can do, because it's down to size and population. But as a dictatorship (it's not truly communist, because communism has a function of equality they lack), it's impressive how they have managed to balance quality of life with lack of freedoms or repression. Just enough "liberty" to prevent an uprising. If the people were truly free, I would have zero issue with China being the #1 world power. Eventually they will be that either way, and they will try to bring the world under it's rule. That's the problem. I'll save the chances of WWIII for another time. LOL

Great video. For anyone who know about China, the rapid rise of Chinese tech sectors is not a surprise. Everything have been lined up for this to happen. Many top Chinese politicians have a technical background and the government invests heavily in tech. China now has the best infrastructure among large economies and its universities are rising fast. Instead of spending all their effort boxing-in China, US politicians should learn from China's success and try to do better in promoting science and technology in US.

it all started with a strategic gamble by then Chinese government some 50 years ago - to send millions of China's talented youth to study abroad with governmental sponsorship, expecting just a small number of them returning China after their graduation. it was termed as "brain drain" by the media both domestically and internationally. but history has proven them wrong. today not only China has caught up and even surpassed the world leaders in various fields of science and technology but also majority of the graduates have chosen back home instead of staying abroad. the economists believing in the so-called "free market" economy and denouncing China's "planned" economy should smell the roses: this is the greatest ECONOMIC PLANNING ever!

A young American schoolteacher went to visit a Chinese elementary school. The children were proud to show her their knowledge of English and sang English songs for her. Then in the Q and A portion, one little girl stood up and shyly asked 'do American children learn Chinese?' and of course the teacher had to tell her no. The child was crestfallen and confused. Can you imagine the head start the Chinese people have over the U.S.?

US has geography advantage. You can own a house with a big yard. Yup... US depends so much on foreign talents which is not the case for China. Still I believe China will outperform US

Remember, China has a population over 4 times that of the US. That means they have the potential for 4x the number of genius and near genius people. But looking at the number of international patents awarded China had 68,500 and the US had 59,000. The per capita ratio is not even close. Don't give China too much credit.

This goes to show how much more potential they have for growth. They did that in 40 yrs. They are already leading in 37 of 44 critical techs. Dont live in denial or you will fall further behind!

When a dictator say everyone need to use digital money and bo cash anymore, then everyone will obey their leader. When wokist facist leader say to people they need to use cbdc then everyone ask their leader how they will to pronaounce to digital money.

labelling every system that are different from yours as "dictatorship" is a very lazy way of analysis. This is why the west are still living in denial and continues to fall further behind

I wish America hada robot production like China. But it's ironic that China's advantages cannot be fully enjoyed due to all of the restrictions and lack of freedon. It's like owning a mansion but always being away from home on the job.

Different freedoms for different cultures. In the US, we're free to have guns. In China, they're free from guns. Society exists in large part to remove freedoms. I don't value the freedom to kill others, so I'm glad this freedom is taken from me because it's also taken from everyone else. It's good that traffic laws exist and deviation from them is punished. Yes it's regulation, but taking the freedom to drive poorly and unpredictably grants us the freedom to drive at all. I would very much enjoy living in China and having a future. They'll use technology for the greater good. Instead, I live in a declining capitalist society where AI is being used to destroy jobs and skills as quickly as it's flooding the internet with slop, empowering scammers, and destroying trust. This gives merciless corporations more power to buy back stocks and purchase freedom from regulation. Smaller businesses can use the amazing power of AI to replace humans with kiosks, more effectively breaking us with isolation and depression. If we match China's robot production, we'll only use it to make life worse. That's not China's vision. If they destroy anything, it's poverty.

The west has an extremely narrow conception of "freedom". In many ways, the chinese has much more freedom than you do. Ipsos ranked china as #1 happiest country in 2023, and Saudi was #2. But surprise surprise, Ipsos removed these 2 countries from the ranking in 2024. This is how the west controls the narratives and tries to influence your thoughts.

Your idea is 20 years outdated. China's innovation and growth come primarily from intensive domestic competition. As per ASPI a year ago, an institute funded by US to watch China, China is leading in 37 out of 44 critical techa. From whom do they copy these non-existent techs?

China's population is over 4 times the US population so in many cases that accounts for their larger industries. Since they must feed all those people, if they expand in robotics and ai then many jobs will be lost; but they still must eat. Their govt controls everything, and their economy is in a bad state. Their nearly a billion and a half people are both a blessing and a curse.

don''t worry. nobody starving in China. China got lots of jobs & projects to do. China is a very efficient & productive country. It already outsourcing labour intensive factories out to other 3rd world dirt cheap countries. While upgrading its workforce to higher value chain mass production works.

@@don_lock Nope, i prefer facts: -many jobs will be lost, but labour will be free up to pursue other crafts. If you want to talk economics, I can teach you about it. -no their govt does not control everything. It's impossible. They have 1.4 billion freaking people. -Nope their economy is not in a bad shape. They have quadrupled their GDP since the beijing Olympics. Their electricity usage is going up parabolically (US' has been fairly flat for 2 decades). 75% of US companies want to reinvest in China in 2024. A large number of world leaders have been flying to China to further their relationships and economic cooperation. IPSOS ranked China as the happiest country in 2023. These are facts, not "eastern msm bs". Too much western indoctrination makes people lazy when analysing systems that are different from theirs.
