Amazing to watch Chinaco making the circle and Pat position in the circle just for the second time! Pat, you really have a way with horses. I have watched a lot of "trainers" and paid a few and none come close to you. You are a natural horseman and very humble about it. It's so enjoyable to watch and learn the correct way to do something. Thank you for sharing some of your knowledge.

Thank you for your support of the Native people. I live in the middle of the Navajo Reservation and what you said is true. More than 40,000 Navajo do not have electricity, running water, indoor toilets, or any of the amenities that most Americans take for granted. Some Reservations are worse off than that. Thank you for bringing that out into the open where people can see it.

Hello Pat and Deb, I love your videos and really admire your talent with horses, I'd bet that most of that comes from the amount of quality time you have spent with them. Said that, I would like to share with you that I own two fillies, they both are 2 years old too, and well, I am doing my best to at least help them become safe horses to ride. When are you planning to get on Chinaco for the fist time? I am really looking forward to hearing from you, Best wishes, Cristina

Ahhh, that wee tilt of the head and twitch of the ear, I was seeing that with my 2 year old bloke today as he sized up the situation and was deciding if he should get angry about what I was asking of him. You make it look so easy Pat, you have clearly done this before a time or two!

If Pat hasn't read The Cadillac Desert by Marc Reisner, I think he'd enjoy it. Lot's of Calif. history and familiar family names in the history of water rights.

Nice work, great example of letting them soak on what was showed them. There was a lot of comments on his tongue, being in kindergarten the first time, you were letting him "doodle"... Second time in class his lesson was a little more demanding, he had to think a little more (no doodling) he's going to be nice!

After 20 years of raising horses, I'll offer my theory (theory only) on the tail. Companionship meets boredom. If someone knows something more I would love to know.

Both actually. Dam is Lusitano and sire is Andalusian. We did the unthinkable and mixed the two bloodlines. So far so good...

@@PatnDebPuckett ahhhh I knew I should not have replied! My Lusitano is also crossed with Spanish, his ma. The Lusitano genes seem stronger in both your boy and mine. Here in Spain, they use a three blood cross, Spansh, Arab, Thoroughbred. Los tres sangers are used a lot in doma vaquera, and sadly in the placing of the baderillas cortos en rejoneo. I just did poles with Camaron, second time for us and we made it. A great day!
