HI I'm a beginner at everything horse. Watched all the videos from old till now. What l like about them , is that they give me the confedence to gain respect from my horse. The training videos are easy to understand. They are common sense. The videos are about keeping the horse interested and not a dead head. Thank you for the info for a beginner's education. Plus when applyed keeps me from hitting the ground. LoL

Words if advice when you decide to buy your first horse: get one that's older, gentler, already trained, HEALTHY, and from a reputable seller (difficult to tell these days, I know).

Chinaco was REALLY watchin' close while you were working with that bosal ... "What'cha doin' there, Boss?" He's a smart horse who's paying attention. Good stuff.

Thanks for the tips for turning the bosal into a halter, and your comment about not wanting to "fix" in the bosal but go to the rope halter.

I agree about leaving the halter on under any bridal. Out of need I have tied with Mecarte and Reins but won’t rather not

Hi Pat you said you would never ever put the halter under the headstall. Did you mean never under a hackamore? Or never under any sort of head gear? I ask bc I do that all the time -- rope halter underneath leather headstall w/missing link snaffle -- when I'm trail riding. Why is that a bad thing? Thanks!

We never leave a halter under any bridle. That is what a bosalito and get down is for. The horses we ride in split reins can be tied with their reins.

I love your bosal hanger, and at $80 I will purchase one. My question is, if I can’t spend $400 on the bosal, is there a more economical one that you could recommend?
@PatnDebPuckett
@PatnDebPuckett 3 жыл бұрын
The less expensive bosals have a lower number of strands so they are coarser. The problem with coarse braided bosals is they will tear up your horse’s jaw. It’s better to save your money for one good bosal that will last you a lifetime than to try to buy a cheaper one that will betray your horse.
