I love the Chinese Buffet! I don't know if I'll ever not love eating at that place even though sometimes the thought of not know who is making my food or what their putting in it kind of freaks me out. Welp, worry no more because I think I've mastered one of my favorite dishes from this restaurant. Enjoy!

Chineese Buffett Imperial Crab Casserole Recipe Ingredients 2 stalks celery finely chopped 1 large onion finely chopped 1 green onion finely chopped 16 oz flaky imitation crab meat 8 oz sour cream 4 oz cream cheese softened 1 1/2 tsp worcestershire sauce 1/4 cup mayo 4 oz shredded mozzarella 4 oz shredded cheddar or Colby jack 1 tbs old bay 1 tsp garlic black pepper as desired Directions Mix all ingredients together in a large bowl Put in baking dish Sprinkle the remaining cheese on top Bake at 400 degrees for 20 minutes Broil to brown the top Enjoy

I made this yesterday for the family. Turned out the bomb. Very good and filling. I added extra ingredients. I added butter to the bottom of the tray and bread crumbs(panko). I also added a little bit of bread crumbs to the top. I used one different cheese that I already had and shrimp. Overall your recipe was amazing. Thank you so much for posting. You are truly talented. 😉

You can also use a rolling pin on the package directly. Loosens the flakes so they break apart naturally when you combine together

i like how you explain your choices and how each ingredient impacts the dish. well done. like the detail of NOT Miracle Whip vs Dukes - was about to use my opened Whip, but have Dukes in the cabinet! indeed this is a key difference between other videos, you explaining your thought process etc. i would have thought miracle whip better since the dish is so sweet at the buffet, but i'll trust you!

Another thing I do sometimes if I'm making an imitation crab dish, I use a wire or metal pastry cutter to chop and flake it up if I can only get the crab that's in big chunks. It makes getting that flaky consistency a breeze instead of tearing it apart or cutting it with a knife! I use a pastry cutter to chop up tuna or chicken when I'm making tuna or chicken salad too

I just made this for the second time. It's a great recipe. I recommend cutting the amount of old bay in half... A full tablespoon took it just over the edge of unpleasantly salty for my family.

Gonna try making this soon. I can't say I've ever had this dish from a chinese buffet but it looks/sounds good, like a big ol' crab rangoon casserole. I think some crispy wonton strips thrown onto the top after it is done, to add a bit of crunch, might set it off nicely too.

Hello, thank you so much for this recipe. I'm in Canada and we can't get Duke Mayo,,,Helmans is awful,,and reg mayo is just bland...sorry don't 'mayo shame' me but I only use Krafts Miracle whip light in my famous potato salad(my Russian moms recipe) and my cold pasta crab salad, all our sandwiches, and all the crab/lobster/chicken/turkey and then some rolls lol(recipe from the mother inlaw New Brunswick Ontario Canada who was a home maker of 8 boys and professional cook for camps) So, that being said you still rock with this version of the casserole which I am making on this today, which is perfect for our frigid minus 30degree weather here in sunny Canada plus a truck load of snow ontop...hahaha Making coconut shrimp in the air fryer to go with this lovely dish. When I went to the Chinese buffet, there was a chicken fried with almonds or hazelnut flavor, and I did like it so much .I hope you can duplicate .I will tell you something never tasted you will like 👍

Ok, not to throw anyone under the bus, but I saw a recipe for this (on a different channel) and last night I made it. It was not very good (and I followed the recipe to a T). Hubby and I both agreed that it was too sweet. Yes, the recipe called for 2 tablespoons of sugar! That's right, sugar. So this morning I see your recipe. Needless to say, I will be making this one next week. This just looks and sounds so much better.

I used kewpie Mayo (it’s definitely my favorite) but if you can’t get kewpie Mayo, dukes or hellmans works well too.

Is there anything you can subsitute worscher sauce with? I have never seen it in stores, the one time I did see it was online for 40ish-50 something ): Ngl that stuff is slick pricey... Really hope it's worth it.

You can use a little soy sauce instead of Worcestershire sauce but honestly, you can skip this ingredient entirely and it will still taste amazing!

Thank you, and can I double the quantity "portion size" by doubling the ingredients? *Like for example: "If one carrot is needed but I add 2" * Will it still cook evenly/thoroughly?? Or should I just start off small with the measurements that you used/ I have a fast metabolism and I know I'm going to swallow most of this lol and would like to take it for lunch as well so ik it won't last long@@TheHungryJawn​

@@justhere4food552 yeah! You can absolutely double the recipe like that but i wouldn’t double the cook time. Keep the cook time the same, just be sure that your mixture is spread out as evenly as possible in your baking dish.

Kewpie Mayo is a Japanese Mayo. It’s richer in flavor than your average Mayo brand and it’s slightly different in color. Kewpie is made like regular Mayo, but only egg yolks are used instead of the entire egg.

You can eat it along with all sorts of dishes you like; salads, sticky or dry rice, steamed or sticky sweet broccoli, or whatever other 'Chinese' dish suits you. I think however, it is best combined with a death wish.

Vegetables grow from dirt. They should always be washed thoroughly before used.

If you don't live where you get year round fresh crabs, imitaion is better. Frozen crabmeat sucks.

Different restaurants use different ingredients. Most of the places I've gone to have used both celery and green onions. Use whatever works for your pallet. 😊

You absolutely can but it won’t taste the same as what you would get from a Chinese Buffet.
