I made this vid. so I wouldn't forget how to put it back together, while I waited the 10 days it took, for a new oil pump to arrive from China. Taking the clutch off was the hardest part, but you can use a special tool to do it, (I used a big 'ammer and screwdriver). Otherwise, it's an easy job and should take you less time than it takes to watch this video.
Update: Still going well in 2020. • Chinese chainsaw, 4 ye... ..

That was very interesting to watch. I have morrison 45cc chainsaw and having similar oil leak issue at the moment, the only difference i noticed, i have 45cc morrison @home is exactly the same, the oil is leaking down from the oil screw where you maximise and minimise the oil supply to the chain bar. Its time consuming procedure by the looks of it, and the local chainsaw mechanic is going to rip off my skin to fix it, this is the time where KZfaq comes handy and gives us confidence to DIY our toys. Cheers mate

Nice work. Always nice when you can fix the problem yourself. I just took in my Makita DCS6400 20inch chainsaw for a 2nd time b/c the chain bar oil continuously leaked a profusely after a short run. I'd sit the chainsaw down and come to a pool of chain bar oil at the bottom of the saw and anything it was resting on was drenched. I thought it was simply the oil line that came loose. The oil line that connected to the pump kept sliding off therefore I had to replace the line for $45. Now, no more pools of chain bar oil left at the scene. 👍🏽🙂

The 45/52/58 cc saws are all the same, except the cyl/piston and everything is available in the UK from a crankcase to a nut. If you're in no hurry, you can buy direct from China at a much reduced price. This oil pump took 11 days from order to delivery. ..

Parts may be hard to find but by the time something goes wrong with these saws you have gotten your money's worth out of them, just get another one of them and presto, still cheaper than a Stihl saw. I purchased a Ryobi 3714 chinese made saw for $119 bucks on one small job made $ 180 bucks plus some other minor jobs that have given me close to $ 500 bucks in less than a year of ownership so if it breaks you better believe I will get another one of the same, but right now I know I can get the three years of warranty worth of money, good money.

At 2.08 the oil flows into that channel and into the corresponding one in the bar, then is forced into the chain guide slot and onto the chain through a small hole. Thanks for the comment..

I got a similar chainsaw pouring oil out the bottom. Thanks for showing this film, I couldn't solve how to get the clutch out. I used a mason chisel cause I love my screwdriver too much. Then I used a little floating gasket to try seal the leaks, and under the small metal plate where the oil should come out in the sword to the chain. Seems to have stopped the oil leaking in a pool under the saw.

Buying a tool is the easiest way to undo the clutch. Making one can be done with a piece of flat steel and drill 3 holes and insert bolts or welding 3 pegs to it. My oil outlet was so tight, that it hasn't leaked, but using silicon or PTFE tape could also be used to seal it. Thanks for the comment..

Be careful zinging the throttle like that without the bar and chain on, as I didn't see you torque that clutch down too tight. They come flying off sometimes ... quite a fun surprise! But, good checking to see that oil was flowing, and your problem fixed, before putting the bar on. Nice job.

I have the same saw. When I took it apart and tested the pump (Panfeng pf43) I found the pump works when spinning in the opposite direction from the way the plastic driver (stamped PA 46) spins it when the saw is running. I need a driver that is reverse threaded. I see your package came with several of those. One of them might be the correct one. Can you provide a link to the supplier that sold you the parts?

Very interesting, and thanks for posting/sharing this with us Rory. I have a Craftsman 20" model # 316.380200 which apparently also has this exact Chinese oiler setup. (No thanks to craftsman, which apparently does not sell these parts.) My saw oil leaked terribly almost since I first used it, had no idea the cause. (Oil would get to the chain, but after using it, any oil left would seep out. From your comments below, I surmise I might as well change the oiler.... ) The oiler I have is made by Panfeng (P.F. 43) Thanks to your tip, yes, I see it's available via ebay from China, cheaply, and via multiple sellers. Alas, I'd pay more if I could find a US based shipper. (Not seeing these as yet via Amazon, Wmt, etc.) Any tips out there?
