O.M.G. I was working as a receptionist at a swanky law firm when I opened this up on my system. I was in tears laughing so hard. 34 years old at that time and cracked up like a fool. The law librarians came out like WTF are you laughing at? We were all a damn teary eyed laughing ass mess. Now I'm 55, showed my husband whose never seen it. He is having a damn heart attack laughing and I'm laughing at him laughing..thanks for sharing this!

It's amazing how funny it is if you come from a time when people didn't sweat stereotypes and actively hunt for reasons to be nuclear upset, but younger people would look at this and go "this animation is responsible for genocide of Chinese people." Never mind that the Chinese people depicted are singing a cleverly worded and funny parody of a popular song or that they're choreographed very well; no, depicting talented Chinese actors In a cartoon is peak evil...somehow.

This was cutting edge Flash animation back in 1999. I remember when it first came out. I was working in interface design/tech writing for a little software company and after seeing this , I wanted to learn to use Flash to make one just like it. Well, animation just like it. LOL Back then it went around as an email attachment or something you had to download and play on your desktop/laptop to view. It was a Flash executable file if I recall. I still have a copy somewhere. KZfaq wasn't around then!

LOL! 👍😁 Definitely used a dial-up modem to connect to internet to check my emails to get to the one that had this attached to it & all of it done on a 150Lb bulky piece of crap computer. And don't forget the other viral attachments that were flying around at the same time; the GR8 Joe Cartoon! Frog in a blender, stone flies, drunk flies, LOL! 🤣 They're all still on his website with new stuff too, like Donald Trump in a blender. 😂

@@Kazuma42 the part you are referring to is after the lyrics I wrote. The singer was ad-libbing a bunch of food orders, throwing out words that popped into his head. I think he may have said Fuji rice which doesn't make any sense but those are not lyrics

I remember this well. It was 1999 and a friend gave me a copy of it, which I watched for the first time with a friend of mine, who happened to be half Japanese. I honestly did not know what was on it. This group of my friends were always passing jokes; on paper, on video and on floppy disc. After we saw this, my half Japanese friend said, "That's pretty racist." I told him I had no idea what was on it when I loaded it into the computer. He then said, "I want a copy of that." I asked him if he was offended by it (being him saying it was racist), and he said, "I'm Japanese, not Chinese." I still don't know if he was just messing with me.

Because Mambo No. 5 was very popular and this not only spoofed it, but was cleverly written and has funny visuals. It's not amazing by today's standards because that song is basically forgotten and we now have computers and software and tools that make it easy to draw far better than this now. Back in the day, Flash was the only animation plus automation program that was accessible to most people and available in everyone's browser. It was simple, but extremely effective at allowing rich content with tiny bandwidth requirements.
