@@lukiland_ES When this song was made, it was the end of the 2nd Millennium. Some people & groups wanted to "party like its 1999" as it were. Like a new year, but 1000x more intense. Modern society has recorded only 2 other melinnium ends in its history. So it made sense to party on the third. "Party like its 1699" is a goofy double joke on that.

In my personal opinion I dont think they live a better or easier life, I think they just live a different life. They have lots of hard and painful things too, loved ones still get sick and dies. And hard work isint easy and they to have laws and strict punishments for crimes. And they might get harrassed by ppl who dont understand them. Bullying is also something that exists even among themselves. No one can really know the hardships of another person unless you walk in their shoes or actually listen to them if they tells you.

So, most of my living relatives are Amish. A couple years ago I was visited by 3 of my cousins during rumspringa. I showed this video to them and they thought it was the funniest thing they have ever seen. They made me buy them a "How am I driving" bumper sticker the next day and when they went home they stuck it on my great uncles buggy. I got a letter from them a few months later. Great uncle John thought that was the funniest thing. Don't think for a second that the Amish don't have a sense of humor. Admire the amish for faithfully sticking to their beliefs. Very few of us do. Had lots of fun that week. Love you, Jacob, Isaiah and John.

If memory serves me correct, coolio is the only artist to not give Al his permission to parody his song. (He’s legally allowed to parody the songs without permission but always asks out of respect. Several sera have said it’s a huge compliment that he wants to parody them.) but I’ve gotta say, this is probably better known then “gangsta’s paradise.

Weird Al is a lyrical genius. This is his best parody. Coolio who wrote "Gangsta's Paradise" wasn't happy about Amish Paradise he had a fued with Al for 11 years but realised he was in the wrong. Sadly he passed in 2022 at 59. RIP Coolio.
