When I graduated from high school in the early 80's my grad present was the full set of Craftsman mechanics tools. Metric and imperial, wrenches, sockets, deep sockets too, the full set, 1/4" drive, 3/8" drive and 1/2" drive, with all the extensions, and even the wobbly bits, full set of hex sockets too. I was a technician at Monkey Wards years ago and could only afford Craftsman, and my shop was across the street from a Sears which was convenient. It took 25 years to finally wear out my 3/8 drive 10mm.........Replaced it and that one lasted about 6 month and had to replace it again. Luckily that replacement had lasted a few years now. Btw on the Joker wrenches, the 6 point is designed to hold a nut and feed it into a tight space, that's it. If you don't want to use the feature, flip the wrench over. Overengineeered a bit. I made a fishing pole at spring breakup, rigged a Dyneema line and a big magnet and got it back first strike. I did a single stroke with an SOS pad and she was good to go, but now has a hole drilled and a little lanyard. The good tools get lubed and CRC'd and Boeshielded. The crap tools, less so.

I love the Irish and Scottish accents! 👍 Craftsman will always have a gentle place in my heart and memories, from when I grew up fixing lawnmowers, my dirtbikes, and my Oldman's work commuter cars. My Dad had Craftsman at the house, and Snap-On at work. He gave me all his tools and now I use anything that makes sense; and hopefully, doesn't break! Unfortunately for Craftsman, it seems quality has gone way of the Dodo! I'm not saying they're doo doo, but the attention to detail is not there anymore! I currently use mainly my older Craftsman and plenty of Proto Professional, and older Snap-On. I do have other brands like OTC, Mayhew, and Mastercool. I have older Plomb that predates Proto too! I really like the older Plomb tools and historical Snap-On. As long as your tools hold up to the rough usage, and don't break, you should be fine. Take care brother.

I recently found a bunch of my craftsman tools I bought in the late 80’s. No rust. Still look great. I really didn’t appreciate them as much as I should have back then.

They should probably have put them to pasture. These new ones look hideous. Harbor Freight quality with a name too big for them.

The camera focus point is in the exact center ..the smooth shiny socket was in the exact center when you were struggling to get focus ..you need contrasting edges and texture detail at the focus point in order to grab focus
