I install and talk about my Chinese Diesel heater into my daily driver, and it's awesome how it keeps the snow melted and the truck warm for about $2.00 in diesel fuel per day, gladly pay it during snowstorms like today. There are other benefits and the best one being these neat little heaters put out about 27,000btu per hour and only cost about $120! Just search Vevor 8kw diesel heater on your search engine and you'll find either the remote mount or standalone units. I'd also recommend buying a glow plug/gasket set and following a video on YT on how to do annual maintenance on a diesel heater: I will be doing one soon. Thanks for watching, leave a comment.

Interested in fuel usage 👊

For an example: It depends on conditions and where you set the thermostat controller, however last night during 12 hours of operation I used 1 gallon to keep the truck at a continuous 95°f which is huge waste and not necessary. In years past I averaged 1/2 gallon to keep the truck dethawed with the heater on its lowest continuous setting, and that is fine even during snowstorms. The caveat to that is you should at least run the heater on high for an hour a day if you're continuously running these heaters as the low setting is less efficient and causes more carbon buildup, running it at least an hour on high burns all that out. To heat my garage used about 1.3 gallons per day.

Just watched this again. Wondering has the new heater held up? I’m thinking of putting one in a gmt400 yukon. Just don’t know where to mount it.

Yes, I still have it mounted. Had to replace the fuel lines, the fuel pump once, and a glow plug/gasket kit and chamber cleaning once. What I use is a hitch mount rack with a plastic truck box bolted to it (Packer 75 model) which I keep the battery, a 5 gallon diesel can which is the fuel tank, and the fuel pump. Here is the video:

Didn't see intake air also what you run the inverters for, the D. heater or what'd you mean by running it?

Hey thanks for commenting, first thing is I didn't hook up the intake air tube-I left it open and it's pulling air for combustion from the interior of the truck. Since the truck isn't sealed by any means it makes no difference (although it's an experiment so I'll have to compare efficiency to the previous winters data) The inverters I was referencing are either the 0-48 volt variable voltage AC/DC transformers for turning household 110 VAC to 0-48 VDC which I power 1 or more diesel heaters from, great when you do an indoor install or don't have a battery to operate them. You may also be asking about the emergency backup heater I came up with which I was confusingly describing: It's an outdoor unit on a dolly cart I made that has 2 8kw diesel heaters, 2 100amp hour marine deep cycle batteries, a small generator, a 25 gallon diesel tank, a powerful battery charger, 2000 watt inverter, extension cords, a 0-48 volt variable voltage AC/DC controller- the heaters and generator have the exhaust ducted into a car muffler on the bottom of the dolly cart and there's a shroud covering everything for weather protection. I have 2 6ft long insulated flexible ducts that connect to a window adapter that both blows heat into a house or other structure, as well as gets the air to be heated from the structure through the other duct which increases the efficiency VS just heating cold outdoor air. I used a unit like I'm describing to heat my entire house last winter when my furnace broke last winter and it worked great and was a lifesaver, literally. I'm going to make a nice version in the future and put up a video if you're interested or want to see what I'm describing.

@@ProlificInvention , Definitely like to see that for the house, no doubt with what you've come up with & thanks for the reply.

How do you turn the LCD screen off, mines on constant.

You have to connect a power disconnect switch. As long as you have power connected the screen stays on, although I've found it's extremely low power draw of about 1/2 of a watt/hr
