Back home whenever we went to a Chinese restaurant I would have Chicken Noodle Soup and Chicken Fried Rice and they were both great! Whenever I had that from the local (in my village) takaway though, it wasn't as good. The Chinese food in Taiwan and China are completely different to the UK, but I think it has to do with local tastes. I don't know if we'll go out for Chinese food when I'm back next week though. 😂

Chinese food in Australia much the same Richard , not as good as the real thing . Another problem is if you get takeaway by the time you get to eat it it's gone cold . Enjoy your English holiday , apart from the weather :-)

Similar to American Chinese here in USA, but way much cheaper. ^_^ These dishes in Portland Oregon could easily cost 100 USD. But, we do have quite authentic Chinese/Taiwanese food here in Portland Oregon. 😀

it looks pretty cool, but is it overly sweetened like American chinese food which is a far cry from what we eat in Taiwan ? Chop Suey was commonly seen in US as well, I found it hilarious as in Mandarin it sounds like leftover cocktails. I haven't 1:09 seen it on the menu yet.

I have lived in Hong Kong for 28 years and been to the Mainland countless times as well as Taipei and without doubt the Chinese food we got in Wales this summer was better than anything I have had in Greater China and Taiwan - particularly the half and half rice/chips.

English Chinese takeaway are hilarious.
