The Chinese NEV market has experienced significant growth, driven by government policies and incentives (Blatt, 2018). However, there are concerns about the capability of the market to support premium NEVs, with a need for policy and market integration (Hu, 2018). The deployment of NEVs has not met original targets, but production has increased, particularly in electric vehicles (Gong, 2012). Incentives such as chargers' density, license fee exemption, and no driving restrictions have been identified as key factors in promoting NEV sales (Wang, 2017).

As the largest oil importer, China is determined to develop electric vehicles. Even if the western countries stop promoting electric vehicles, China will continue. In addition, many countries in the world are short of oil, and there is also a demand for electric vehicles. I just saw a news that the share of electric vehicles in new cars sold in Nepal has reached 60%.

How did China advanced so fast? It's simple; China didn't usse their rice farmers to manufacture cars, they use their engineers instead. 😂😂😂😂

China has identify Electric vehicle instead of transitioning internal combustion vehicle in accelerating market adoption. China’s EV development by focusing on adjacent industries like electric buses and motorcycles in the early stage of development instead of targeting the automotive industry head-on. Chinese companies have fuelled the acceleration of their country’s EV sector and have developed a deep understanding of what is needed to move the industry forward. China is delivering and deliver results. China is emerging in future-oriented industries including hydrogen power, new materials and innovative therapeutics such as bio-manufacturing, commercial spaceflight, quantum technology and life sciences. Green energy generated from natural resources, such as sunlight using solar panels. Wind turbines harnessing the power of the wind to generate electricity by converting kinetic energy into electrical energy. Electric vehicle as an option for gas internal combustion engine. EV’s battery that store energy. Growth of technology platforms enable China to thrive in green energy. China renewable energy towards a more sustainable future has contributed significantly to lowering costs and making green technology more accessible globally.

Germany has been toying with EV since before WWII, during WWII porsche design for their Tiger tank bid use electric motors. their bid fail as copper to produce motors was a very rare resource in WWII Germany and it seem insanely wasteful to use them to build vehicle and tanks. so the idea of EV has always been around, it just that we never got the economy to do it, until now. as for why US, EU and Japan has not really push for EV is really because it is a net lost of job to go EV, EV requires alot fewer parts which means you need alot fewer subcontractors, those subcontractors will be jobless and it damage to the economy will be greater than what EV can create. China with less of a legacy industry to worry about could go all in... that's really all there is to it.

Japan believe in hydrogen fuel cell, US flip-flops between bipartisan which allows China 10 years to develop EV. It's difficult to challenge ICE which Europe,US and Japan have master it for century, China has no IP in ICE but need to Joint Venture with foreign automakers. There is little room for China to play with traditional automakers in their own games.

If you follow new battery news there are ones launching soon with 1000km+ range with fast charging. Once you have that as mainstream then you do not need an alternative source as that range exceeds almost any ICE car. The EU has already set legislation which will push out petrol and diesel by 2030. So no going back from there, unless they backtrack.
