I got the addies tuna for 100$ at the time and I love it. It is a great everyday watch that is tough and built like a tank. It allows me to save my Tissot for nice occasions.

I've been into affordable Chinese watches for a couple of months now. You really do get what you pay for. Upper tier brands such as Proxima, San Martin and Steeldive really give you A LOT for your money. They never skimp out on lume and they have finishing and overall quality that would embarrass a $500 Seiko. Steeldive/Addiesdive in particular have a lot of offerings in the $100-150 range that will make you skip the lower tier brands such as Pagani Design, Bliger and Phylida, although most of their offerings are above $150.

Compared to what one has to pay for original watches, it is easy to understand why consumers like to wear homages. Nobody I know would ever know the difference anyway.

After spending rm6k++ on several model of SEIKO watches, I really think I could not afford any of them anymore. Going for these Homage might be a good option for me.. Need more guys liked you to do more reviews with more details on these watches.. Keep up the good work.. 🙏🙏🙏😊

It's always you get what you paid for. It is interesting how the Chinese company can sell at low pricing. I am contemplating to get one Chinese make homage watch, using reputable quartz/mechanical 'engine', good materials like sapphire crystal, stainless steel casing, 50m or higher water resistant (if it is true), average straps and throw away box. There must be area the company can trim their cost - cheap labour cost, low material cost in mass production? I noticed that there are different brands selling lookalike watches. Quite sure the campany can save cost in after sales service by providing none of that. Thanks for the video

Thanks to U i pulled the trigger on my SD1975 tuna, arrived Nov 27, i really think these manufacturers are offering so much more for the price, even the quality and materials truly speak for themselves. Of course we can't compare them to luxury watches where the detailing and engineering is prized and priced for novelty.

Hello again my friend. As-salamu alaykum. Of the watches in the video, the only brand I own is the Steeldive. I have a Steeldive tuna on order from Ali Express and I have the Steeldive Captain Willard, which is probably the best watch I own next to Seiko. It was around 60GBP. Addies and Steeldive seem to be the same company coming out of the same factory and the branding appears to be interchangeable. The Proxima that you have looks to be a really beautiful and excellent watch. I would like that but it is around double the price of the Steeldive Willard. Now the Willard is excellent and luminous even in daylight almost. It positively shines. I believe that both watches have a Seiko NH35 or NH36 movement so its difficult for me to see how the Proxima can be double the cost, unless it's the case material. The Steeldive has sapphire crystal. I just don't know what I'm paying for sometimes on Ali Express and the businesses aren't very scrupulous with the truth. The worst watch I bought was a Benyar "Explorer." The watch gained time and was way too fast. It was advertised as 316L stainless steel. I could not get the back off to calibrate it and scratched the "steel." It is alloy and won't be as good as an old Vostok. Customer service on AliExpress is next to useless. They know that this shop is selling junk. So I'm left with a rubbish watch at a significant cost, no refund, and I've just found out that far from being an homage, the watch dimensions are way off compared to an original. Be careful which Ali stores you buy from. Benyar advertising is untruthful. Many others have mentioned that they are alloy and not steel. If the watch has a Seiko or Miyota movement look at value for money in terms of case construction, sapphire crystal etc. Not all Chinese movements are junk. Some brands have a cheap or inexpensive (cheap can be shabby, inexpensive is more than value for money) watches and movements. For example I have three Paulareis watches under 20GBP, all Omega homages, all coated alloy with Tongji movements. Whether they last three months or three years they are good fun. The brand logo is intrusive, it has a stupid (to us English) name (I can remember when the name Yamaha seemed silly but we didn't laugh for long!) but mainly these watches are automatic, didn't cost much, and are very accurate. Corgeut and Pagani Design make excellent watches too. I also love Guanqin despite the Chinglish on one of the dials. That's about all I know. Your video helps people who don't know and add what I and others know and people are less likely to make a mistake. I'm going to check out that Proxima again. 🙏👍

In Western English, when discussing a lower priced product, the phrase "you get what you pay for" would mean that it is of low quality and is a bit disappointing. But if I understand right, what you're saying is more like "you do get a lot for the money". Is that right?

I'd say you might be getting even more than you paid for. If I had the Chinese watch, I might feel silly to buy the Seiko after, even if I had the money. I don't know if any difference would be worth the extra money.

I have a Tandorio 007 homage watch, it has been flawless. I have owned two Seiko 007 divers and the Tandorio is a better watch.

It would be better if Chinese watch makers use the Swiss Ronda R150 automatic gearbox, ETA quartz chrono gearbox.

I recently just got to steal Dave watches. We were very excited to get them as one was a gift for my son. It showed almost 3 weeks later after the original shipping date when I paid extra to have it sent to our home. Now that I have these watches, overnight they both stop working. I have no idea why if there’s something I’m doing wrong please let me know no manual came in the box. Definitely frustrating and I don’t know what to do

Do you think you get what you pay for with current Seiko models and prices? I love Seiko watches but I think Chinese models like the ones shown here as well as from other reputable companies offer much more value for the money spent. I do truly believe Orient is the new Seiko.
