First of all, I am a Chinese gamer. In China, VPN is prohibited, and the use of VPN may be fined or detained. You can only use VPN to connect to a single game through legal software. To distribute games in China, you must pass the examination and obtain the distribution license. However, there are some sensitive words, such as "blood", "death", "murder", etc., and even "chasing" and "beating" cannot pass the review, so there are few games that can be played in China. We can only play games abroad through Steam and other platforms. And in China, minors can also prevent addiction. Only 20:00-21:00 Beijing time on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays can play games. We didn't think of SteamChina, but there was no way. Many Chinese gamers want to transfer their Steam to Hong Kong, China, or Argentina and Türkiye.

@MatZ I completely agree on that, but since they are a thing, transparency would be a big improvement to the system. Maybe people would spend less money on loot boxes if they knew that the drop rate for what they really want is abysmally low and that spending 25$ on the thing they want would be a better option.

@@brunocharbonneau5272 yeah and some games have transparency but lie like 0.001% legendary 60% common etc is technically transparency but when you realise a character is all ways legendary and are very rare but also some tiny crap amount of coins (not gems) is also legendary and also just as common as rare it all falls apart

The somewhat ironic part of this video is that, like Steam China, LTT's official Bilibili channel is deemed to be censored as well. This video will not be able to go up there.

It will, maybe with(or without) a little bit editing. Actually CPP's censorship is not so strict on these reasonable criticisms, and is done by censors working at platforms like Bilibili, not party members.(As a Chinese)

This guy is really smart about the movement of chinese government. It's August now, and within the time, the government has done two things: 1, removing basically all the game that is published by foreign publishers/studios, leaving very few game in the chinese appstore; 2, restricting the time of playing online video games to 3 hours a week, and players of those online games are forced to use their ID to register. According to what the video just analyzed and the trend now, it's not far from international version steam being "switched off" in china.......
