That's a China Railways 0-8-0 Class C2. They're Chinese copies of the Soviet Pt-4 locomotives and were produced between 1952 and 1988. The massive majority of Chinese steam locomotives built after WW2 were copies of or based off both Soviet and American designs.

But for export products, they make junk like Nike, Apple products, and computers, that fall apart intentionally and other nations flock to that garbage. Why would they change that if China can keep replacing the broken stuff that other nations obsess over it? They have managed to almost completely shut down domestic production in several nation's. France, Spain, United States of America, Brazil, have almost no domestic production at all because China won a trade war with them. Other nations like Canada, United Kingdom, Mexico, have about half their domestic production gone already, when it comes to consumer goods. Their strategy is flawless, as long as other nations keep importing their consumer goods. But, they do not use that junk. They get their consumer goods made better so it will last. Right now, turn your computer, tablet, smartphone, or PDA over and it is most definitely made in China if you live in Spain, United States of America, or Brazil. It pretty much perfectly sums up what "Made in China" truly means.

This steam locomotive was built in 1980 and was working for a coal mine ( no wonder why its trashed ). The mine went bankrupt in 2007 and this railway line is abandoned and the steam locomotive was scrapped in 2009.

@@HansTheDeutscheLuftschraube.Sadge. Still surprises me that this one was built in the 80s. Oh well, guess visual maintenance is unaccounted for on Chinese Industrial Railways.

> That's what the first trains in the *1830's* looked like on the then uneven rail tracks. Which caused a lot of derailment that need for the small locomotives to be wedged back on the tracks during their short trips hauling stage coach like passenger cars overloaded with curiosity seekers. - There is a silent movie showing this. Once you see it, you never forget how different early train rides really were.

Why am I getting emotional over a steam locomotive?

Unlike the trains of today Those kind of trains will run a life time with very minimal to no maintenance at all , I think it's emotional because it's from another. time and era that we wished we'd have had a chance to experience, and although most of us haven't , no matter how old we may grow ,just the sight of one takes you waay back to when you was a child we you see something like this for a moment, you forget all about today's world, and start wondering how it must have been to be living in those days ,

That thing looks like is one second away from having catastrophic boiler failure and just blowing up into the sky. That whistle sounded like a screaming child. 😂

I think it is losing 1/4th of its steam pressure through the seams and leaks.

I know man. But I have to admit, such a strong lasting engine should be be treated with the upmost care. AND DEFINITELY not looks like that😢. The fact that it's been working THIS LONG. Is Proof of it's good mechanics. So it should be able to retire to a museum, get cleaned up, and be ridden on as recreational piece of history.
