HOLY SHIT???? The amount of upper body strength is so severely impressive on its own, but the balance and core strength is insane as well. And the coordination? the fact that even still the dance itself is undoubtedly beautiful? completely outstanding

I don't think I've ever seen humans able to mimic the movement of frogs so well. I know some people were disappointed because it wasn't "pretty," but I think it was meant to stand in stark contrast to the usual Dance of the Cygnets.

HOLY COW! What is really amazing about this is not only that they managed a whole new "take" on it, but that the "original" version, which displays such a powerful combination of coordination and sheer athletic ability under a veneer of "femininity" of four delicate ballerinas, has been turned into a demonstration of "masculine" strength (imagine the upper arm power required to carry this out) without losing an ounce of its delicacy. AMAZING!

I weep for their elbow and shoulder joints, not to mention the abdominal muscle aches the day after! I'm a traditionalist when it comes to ballet, but you can't deny the absolutely superb display of athletic prowess and control.

It is not the Chinese way. Most Chinese audiences do not clap as I understand it. They view a noise from the audience as an insult akin to trying to make their own music. I believe this may only apply to classical shows and music. Not sure about contemporary music.

Why applaud? That is the new way of trying to make better shows. Think about doing the whole ballet in the same way. I don't think that the frogs know the tradition.

Reading the comments it's very revealing how people can be conditioned to just accept a traditional representation of a dance sequence. Exclamations of it being "weird" and "bizarre". It's innovative, original, highly imaginative! Displaying fantastic gymnastic skills and wonderful choreography. What a delightfully creative, unique, performance! 👏

Танец маленьких лебедей был написан как часть действия балета, когда на озере появляется стая чудесных птиц...Лебедей обычно танцуют девочки- студентки училища, это символ юности и подростковой грации.... Боюсь представить, что символизирует собой танец жаб в исполнении вполне себе взрослых мужиков. Хотя как акробатическое шоу вполне смотрибельно. Но это не балет.
