He makes things very simple... You make things very complicated. I don't have room in my brain to worry about what the handle is doing during a chip shot.

Mr. Malaska is a former player, athlete, he has a lot of experience in teaching . BB better is an amateur who is looking for solutions for his problems.. Actually he is doing pretty good job showing us, the best instructors and their methods of teaching . Really appreciate his efforts and idea … it is a true that BB is sometimes lost , if he pretend to be an expert..which is a funny story to observe…

Glad to see you covering parametric acceleration. Most really good players do it…Chris Ryan did a very good video on it 2-3 weeks ago. It’s key to effortless speed and naturally occurring forward shaft lean. Adam Young wrote an article about it too. Removing tension in your swing allows it to happen.

there is a flat spot in the swing if the handle is going up while the club releases. it's a timing thing and you don't have to alter your swing except that you are releasing the club later. Or to put it another way make the swinging of your arm farther ahead in time from the unhinging of the club or more asynchronous.

I always love you're lessons w Mike. Even if you don't play your best golf rt after seeing him😅. It does require ingraining his concepts before judging. Just like 90% of all golf teachings.

If you try chipping with cross handed grip you will see the butt of the club fire back through impact very quickly from pointing to left thigh pre impact , neutral at impact and right thigh as ball leaves face. It’s a trebuchet action and it gives remarkable spin and loft impact conditions. It happens naturally with cross handed grip, more difficult with conventional grip as you feel you are flipping with right hand and cupping left hand. Watch Matt Fitzpatrick do it… it works !!!

Very interesting, but i am worried about the club head overtaking the hands before striking the ball. I will give it a try though. Thanks

BB, suggest you try cross-handed like MM points out as a practice drill at around 6:46 of your video. Would like you to devote a video on this with MM with the full intention to chip/pitch with this method. I find it is much more consistent than the conventional grip.

The grip has to go up because your arm is attached to your left shoulder doh.

Teaching golf is a racket. You never teach your students to get better because if they do, you stop getting paid. I've taken lesson from many pros, even golftec, worked my ass off and still can't chip to save my life. Do you ever actually tell your students why they can't improve? Honesty would be worth the price of your lesson. Not everyone can do this. Anyway else see this too?

Every pro I’ve met teaches people to chip right hand only (sometimes left hand only). So practice right hand only chips for 10 minutes a day for 5 weeks. If you miss a day, restart

@@BEBETTERGOLFi tried the right hand only for over a year. I've come to believe that you can or you can't. Do I suck, relatively . I've broken par on 18, break 80 about 50/50,if I hit greens. But can't chip, tried everything. Lost trust in coaches. I'd gladly pay full price for a short game lesson, if at the end the teachers would just tell me that I can't do it. And be honest about it. Thanks for the reply, though

Malaska shows just the hand action. Isn’t the rotation having a huge role in this shaft lean and shallowing? I don’t buy this!
