I've had a longstanding problem with chip buildup on the y-axis bellows on the Tormach PCNC 440 way covers. I've added an additional cover to solve this problem. It's a low invasive modification to the mill. It does the trick and should help me keep more consistent spindle up time when I'm machining a bunch of parts.
The video makes the bellows sound a lot noisier moving along the added way cover guide. In reality its a lot more quiet. The way covers move freely between the ways and the 3d printed way cover guide.
All the sheet metal brackets were handmade. Making them didn't take too long but it just takes some patience.
