What's the reason for the flame along the top of the shaft?

We do that to smooth the edges of the handmade boots! At times there are strings in the embroidery that are extra, or the leather cut isn't even on the top of the shaft. Part of our pre-shipping inspection is to make sure anything "extra" is burned back! Thank you, Allison
