Cowboy Boot Suede Leather Cleaning

Tutorial on how to clean leather suede cowboy boots. These boots here are the Ariat Sport Patriot boots. I got them a few months ago during the 4th of July sale.
Suede leather has its own unique challenges of keeping them clean, I would highly recommend not handling any type of oils around these boots because they are difficult to clean. Motor oil or cooking oil are very difficult to get out of suede leather.
This kit can be purchased at any Walmart for about $12's and comes with everything you see in the video. You can also get it on Amazon if you don't have a Walmart nearby.

Levi Tysver For some reason I had to get a 1/2 size smaller for this boot. They fit great.

I own a few pair of Ariat boots and will own more God willing they wear better than any boot or even most shoes I have ever owned. I wear boots about every time I leave the house and these boots are some of the best store bought I have worn. I clean mine every so often with a soft brush and saddle soap then wipe them down and let them air dry they always turn out clean and bright then I just brush over them every so often to keep them clean . Some of my other pairs get beat on pretty good on the farm .

They are called the Ariat Patriot Boot. They come in khaki, Desert khacki and black.

The eraser and brush will do most of the work. If you used the suede leather conditioner, make sure you put it on both boots so they look equal.

I have this problem with my work boots with cooking oil and butter spewing. Not to mention engine oil and antifreeze. I used an old tooth brush to try to get everything out but it's not as clean as I want it to be.

Natasha Gonzalez Get a plastic grocery bag and put powder corn starch all over your boots. Let them sit in the bag for at least 8 hours. Then get all the powder off with either a brush or you can vacuum it off. The powder should absorb lots of the liquid staining from the suede and then you can follow up with cleaning the remaining leather with this method.

I used the dry rid at work 😅 paint spills and oil spills lol probably not a good idea but when I get oils all over the place especially my work boots that's the closest thing I could use on hand at the moment, it's also a lot easier to clean off my boots. Would you recommend to use those sprays on a lighter suede, like a really light tan color? I heard that this brand darkens your suede and i don't want to use it if does

Hey there! So I am curious to know if you can “repair” the suede look to the Ariat boots. I realize I made the mistake of using a “polish” that was recommended to use on my suede fat baby boots and they have since not been the same. Is there any hope for them to return to the texture and color I bought them as?

Sunni That is a tough question, I’ve never personally made this mistake. You could take a heat gun to the boot and try to melt away the polish and then wipe it off. You made have to use the eraser and rubber brush to get the polish off completely. It is worth a try. Normally if I spill cooking oil or something similar on my boots. I can get it out by leaving them covered in corn starch for half a day. Let me know how it goes.

I plan on working on a farm this summer, would these boots work fine for that? I feel like steel toe would limit my movement too much.

They don't have a lot of grip but I still climb over panels and stuff and slip something thimes in wet mud. O use my almost as mucks sometimes

Mex hexXD It comes out very easily, most of it is from bumping my boots into objects. Once you get the deep dirty areas out with the eraser you can use the suede cleaner spray and brush to get the rest of it out.

Actually, it is interesting that you asked that. I have 2 other pairs of Ariat boots that I wear on a regular basis (12D). This particular pair here actually ran slightly larger than my other boots, I don't know if it was because it was a wide square toe but I actually took them back to Boot Barn, exchanged them for a 11.5D and they fit like a glove. I don't believe a toe style should matter, but for these boots they were a little large. Thank you for watching.

The Boot Recruit The twisted x are very comfortable. They make the HOOey brand boots. I own two pairs and i absolutely adore them. It would be worth looking them up and checking them out yourself.

If I was buy them for work purpose but feet constant get wet them bring suede will they hold up or should I look into a all leather pair do to purpose

Aida Jones Suede leather is highly porous, I would get boots with Gortex. They are pricey but you definitely get your money’s worth. I wear Bates GX-8 boots w/Gortex to my job and I’ve walked through 4 inch puddles and my feet are dry.

TEXAS MADE I worked in the oil fields, I would never wear these boots. I would get some that were steel toe and had a sole with better traction ;-)

Justin Cassidento You can just wear jeans and a t-shirt. I recommend boot cut janes instead or regular or relaxed fit because your heel of your boots will step on the denim and cause tearing at the bottom of your pants.

A nice t shirt and a mesh ball cap is good for casual wear. If you want to wear plaid shirts with it, I always tuck them in and wear a western belt. I recommend boot cut jeans, the relaxed, regular, and straight fit jeans sometimes get under the heel of your boot snd cause it to tear.

I apologize for the late response, yes you can purchase a spray application by Bick More which will help waterproof your boots. I would highly recommend using it if you are wearing your boots in a wet environment however if you are constantly exposing your boots to mud, rain, or large puddles, I do not think your boots will hold up very well no matter how much waterproofing spray you use. I've worn my Ariat boots when setting up a duck blind in a muddy grass, after a while I could feel the water going through. Thank you for watching.

AJ Pataialii I would not recommend any non-steel toe boots for construction sites. You can find some steel toe boots that have a western design on it.

I have ariat steel toe work boots and they are the most comfortable boots I have ever worn after break in
