When my wife left me and my two daughters this was our movie. They both remember singing this when we did dishes. It was a hard time for the three of us but in all honesty it was the happiest ive ever been.theyre both grown now and they still remember that first winter

Dick Van Dyke can always put a smile on your face with his many talents: singing, dancing and acting! Thank you for all the happy smiles and you are still with us at this writing at 90 years young! Thank you too Mermaiddreamer for your time and effort in posting this with the lyrics - nice job.

So funny this song was on my mind in the middle of the night and my little boy trotted up the stairs to visit the bathroom. On his way, he brought his sleepy little self in my room, leaned over me, and said, "Now, I have my second chance to do this ..." and he gave me a kiss and a hug !!! What a sweet boy ! I am so glad I have him to muddle through for ... ♥

Single dads are underappreciated... at least more so than single moms. Nice to see this movie breaking stereotypes.

When I was growing up, my brother and I didn't have a dad, so when we saw this movie, I wished that we had a dad like that. So imaginative, and his gadgets are so awesome to see. I'm happy to say that I have a stepdad, and he's a really good dad. When or if I have children, I hope to be like this dad. This scene is a gem, and I will show this to 2 of my 6 little cousins. The ones that live closest to me.

A correction is in order. This does not belong to Disney as the disclaimer says. It was put out by United Artists based on a story by Ian Fleming. Dick Van Dyke said that this movie was going to out Disney Disney and I feel it did

Why do they use their table cloth as napkins? Is Caracactus Potts that poor?
@lainey64742 жыл бұрын
In that time period, the practice was cloth napkins. If you were poor, it does even rather silly to have an extra cloth to wipe your face on when you plan on cleaning your tablecloth anyhow, don’t ya think?
