2 things. First the chocolate you are using is compound chocolate and you can tell because it has a thicker waxy texture rather than a smooth and shiny one that tempered chocolate will have. Second melting chocolate in the microwave, especially for 2 minutes will likely cause the chocolate to burn and harden in some spots and separate in others, which will cause you to have chunks of hard gooey thick slop that will never truly harden correctly. This “hack” is 100% possible with the right chocolate and melting methods.

Melting chocolate on a stovetop usually works better - microwaves tend to burn parts of the chocate before melting other parts. To melt chocolate on a stovetop, use two pots - put water in the larger pot, chocolate in the smaller pot, and put the smaller pot in the water of the larger pot. Boil the water, and it will warm the smaller pot more gently and evenly.

Also depends on the microwave and temperature. Mine was made in year 2000 and it will do the burning thing, but you can change the heat level and chocolate will melt normally if the power is set to a really low degree. It melts like butter does, which barely needs heat to turn to liquid

In a way to get it to work is if you add coconut oil to the chocolate which hardens at room temperature, so if your hand is extremely cold (and stays cold) it will harden but it isnt enough to just put your hand in ice water. To make a "chocolate hand mold you would need to put the warm chocolate coconut oil mixture on your hand and THEN stick your hand in ice water. Tips from a bakery✌️(please use gloves tho)

The reason it wont work is because the human skin temperature is at 36C... even if iced it wont go below 25C. You would need to lower your hand temperature to below 10C to harden chocolate fast enough. But at that point, you risk losing your hand
