Homemade lip balm is GREAT! It's good for your lips, much healthier than storebought, much less expensive, AND you can make it smell the way you want! What flavors do you make? I have some orange essential oil, can you use candy flavoring like rootbeer/ cheery?

Again,I can’t get enough of your videos. I found you a few days ago and have watched about 20 so far already and for sure will watch the rest of them. Could you do sauerkraut video and mixed veggies ferments?

Thank you, Heidi, I definitely want to make the lip balm. I also would love it if you have a recipe for water kefir. I brought some that was goat's milk because I heard that it was better, but it still causes me to have acne breakouts.

Hmmm.... no, it's a totally different part of the plant, BUT you could sure give it a try..... Now I'm intrigued!

Thank you! I'm going to make this, but without the essential oil. I might add a drop or two of peppermint essential oil though. I wonder if I could add a drop of vanilla extract to it and if that would work? I just bought some cacao butter (organic, food grade unrefined I like the ones I get because I make desserts with them too) and organic unrefined virgin coconut oil today. Yesterday I'd bought a small thing of beeswax (because I want to make lotion bars and also some salves using a couple of infused oils I have already (nettle and chamomile/lavender). Excited to make some lip balm! I think I can find something at this one Japanese store that sells some DIY stuff nearby that would work even if its not a lip balm tube, but it will be small enough like it. I'll halve the recipe.

I’m definitely going to be making this! Did you double your coconut oil? You put in 3 teaspoons, which seems like an odd amount for doubling a recipe. Just curious and thought that might be why you got fewer tubes than you expected.

Oh, gosh. I'll have to check, but I don't think so. If they were heaping teaspoons, I always take that into account. I'm not one of those "exact" cooks, LOL. But it did come out great!

Hi Heidi! Off topic but I am hoping someone can help I don't know if you can help me on this tincture that I am making I want to ask an herbalist ...I want to make an elecampane tincture of a ratio 1:5 basically I want everything to fit in. A pint size jar so I want to use 28 g of the herb plus 140 ml of solvent but I need to dilute my solvent to a 60% alcohol I have a grain alcohol which is 95% 190 proof how much do I need of water and alcohol for this specific tincture. Thank you so much I hope you can help me ☺️

Oh, that's going to require just a bit of "tincture and alcohol math." LOL I have the steps written out in our herbal membership in the foundations area. The Confident Herbalist Tribe is the place to learn phytochemistry of the plants, formulation, and all the other things....in a village for help and support.
