You know what, Mike? You probably could have a chocolate soup dumpling with chili oil. They've been putting chocolate and chilis together in Mexican cuisine for centuries. It might be a nice Chinese-Mexican fusion thing. Also, since you like peanuts in your chili oil, well, peanuts and chocolate, right?

His step-by-step process of eating the soup dumplings is great. 1) Nibble 2) Pour Soup onto spoon 3) Add vinegar and hot oil to soup 4) Slurrrp 5) Dumpling Back on Spoon 6) oil and vinegar in dumpling 7) consume 8) Repeat until finished/sad

We're from Montreal Qc and visited this restaurant thanks to you, and it was sooooo GOOOD!! im back home now and there is nowhere in montreal that makes good xiao long bao. Feeling sooo sad and I've been craving it soo bad..Looking forward to going back soon.

I gotta eat the same goddarned indian food every day, we don't even have authentic chinese restaurants in mumbai, just indian chinese (not that the latter is bad, it just has pathetic variety). My fiancé and I tried Kung Foo in February based upon this review. It is still amazing. Small quaint place with amazing service and seriously great soup dumplings. And the chocolate soup dumplings…OMG. Worth the trip from midtown Manhattan. Thank you.

If you go to Shanghai sometime in the future, I recommend 小杨生煎 (Yang's Dumplings). They are a popular shengjianbao restaurant turned successful franchise. Somehow they maintain their quality even with dozens of chains across the city. The shengjianbao skin is about a third of the thickness of the one you had in this video... as it should be!

When my college in Virginia came up to New York on a class trip I knew I had to at least try to come out and try these. We ended up walking about 3 miles, taking the subway and a bus but all involved said it was so worth it to try these. The chocolate ones are so good and we need this place everywhere!

I just tried this place. I had the wontons in chili oil, pork soup dumplings, steamed loofah soup dumplings and the chocolate soup dumplings. I loved it. I tried getting pan fried soup buns but something was going on in the kitchen which was taking too long (I didn't understand why but honestly it didn't matter). Maybe another time I'll try that.

Vinegar is essential lol. Soup dumplings, even the pork ones, are really sweet and vinegar balances out the flavours and cuts down grease. One spoon isn't much, considering that Chinese vinegar is usually less pungent

jokes on you because I am Chinese lol. It really depends on what you define as "regular vinegar". The Chenkiang vinegar is definitely less strong when compared to distilled white vinegar, but more pungent that the red vinegar that restaurants sometimes serve with soup dumplings. At the end of the day, the real question is why you even bother to judge how much vinegar he adds to his dumplings, it all depends on personal taste

OMG! You are in my favorite part of flushing! I love the restaurant next door (Tasty Roast House) which has some of the old schooled breakfast/lunch and really cheap prices. Thank you for this video. Now I have another reason to visit this area again.

I had xiao long bao in NYC at Kung Fu Little Steamed Buns Ramen, and they were sooo good. The skin was really thin as well...transluscent, so you could see the soup through it. Omg. Soooo good.
