@@elgajoh yes cholar dal is also known as chana dal or boot dal is some places, so yep same recipe.this is typical Bengali recipe which is just awesome but there are other different ways of cooking it too!

Hi made this cholar dal for a party last night. It was a hit! I couldn't weigh the ingredients as I have nothing to weigh it with. But used "chokher andaaj". Love you guys really! And watched your Q&A video also and wanted to tell you please don't quit the sugar in your dishes ever. People can always skip it if they don't want but watching Insiya cook is a delight.

I tried this recipe today. Followed all the steps exactly the way it is showed.
