White walls, white ceiling, white doors, white window frames!

I think white frames on the inside of the frame so that you don’t risk clashing woods, or having things look too busy. The small tile idea makes me 🫣 Won’t probably age well due to getting dirt in the grooves

Tiling small tiles is a nightmare i do not recommend choosing individual small tiles unless you know what your doing, seriously 😬

probably too late to the party here but HEXAGONAL IS SO YOU GUYS! It fits the combo of The Strokes and Star Wars by being both cool and sci-fi haha! Also, dark oak better than light for the floor... the light looks like any old wood but the darker one is really yummy

Black will look amazing against the built in, or white will look super cute on stand alone windows if they have some details not just the frame but like the cross thing(u know like on French doors). That is my vote🥰

I'm thinking that this secondary bathroom, which you perhaps will not spend too much time in, is a good place to save money on materials. I'm saying there are OK looking and good enough quality tiles and bathroom sinks etc that are cheap and maybe on sale. You could probably cut the cost at least by half. Then you could pimp up the plain-looking bathroom using your designer skills. You can make it a fun project: How to do the bathroom as cheap as possible without sacrificing to much on quality/function/aesthetics. Just a thought. Lycka till!

If you are going to lay the tiles yourself, I would not choose the hexagons. They are very difficult to cut for an inexperienced layman, I have heard several people say

Those hexagon tiles in medium size are kind of a classic bathroom floor tile in the Nordics. I've seen them in almost every bathroom in my childhood and now they did a comeback several years ago. They will age well if you give them enough time, since they go in and out of fashion every now and then 😂 Black tiles in a bathroom are a nightmare if you want it to look clean, they show every spot that soap has ever touched. I personally really liked the lighter colour in the oak laminate flooring, but then the lighter colour in the windows wouldn't work with that 🤔 Are you going to keep the walls white? Two different colours of wood works in the same space, but with three or more it becomes quite messy looking. So if the floor is the lighter wood one (and the future wall cabinet too?) and the walls white, then the windows could be the darker shade of wood to give some contrast 🤔 Since you have the white-box-drawings of the cabin already, maybe you could try to colour them with different combinations and see what colours give the best overall look? If everything else is really light and white, then something like the window frames could be darker to make the space more defined. But I'm not an interior designer so don't take my opinions too seriously 😅 I love the stage of choosing materials for a project, but I need to give myself a strict deadline, otherwise I would keep changing my mind indefinitely 😂 I love to see what you end up choosing!

Aren't decisions the worst?!! As you asked for opinions - Personally, I like a clean, slim, black window frame. Never in a PVC type material though. As invisible as possible, which would suit the larger, clear windows you're going for. The oak laminate will look nice, I find tiles the most difficult thing ever. I always hate most of them - too shiny and blah and cheap looking. If I were to do a bathroom I might look at large tiles to emulate a stone slab of some sort, and zellige tiles, that have a bit more character. I hope you manage to find what you like!!

I would choose white windows since you want wood floors, ceiling and built in. Its a nice frame. I have been in too many all wood/pine stugor growing up, as a Swede, i would not want to risk that bastu/gillestuga vibe... Regarding tiles, I would pick the least amount of grout, for cleaning purposes.

The laminat wood flooring looked really good and I also loved the chape of the black bathroom flooring! It will be great whatever choises you make! 😃

I like how you are thinking with regards to materials and costs, but it is quite overwhelming when you look at all the variety. I can't offer much advice though because i would choose wood over almost any other material (or that with the appearance of wood.) It's natural and given the choice i would always prefer this.The black hexagon tiles i agree wouldn't really age well but the colour is something i would consider. Whatever you both eventually decide though, it will look fantastic. Keep well both of you.
