I think I discovered the source of my bad karma over the last year and a half: I had not discovered this most excellent arrangement!

Wow I really do like your arrangement!! We really do have similar styles, I like how you try to uphold a two-hand effect wherever possible even if that means rolling chords, but it overall sounds great!! many kudos !

I think Géza Zichy would find this useful.

Well I guess even though I’m a fool, I’m still in awe of the music and your ability to put it all together, so I guess that’s all that counts. Sorry for my cluelessness regarding it all, I’m not up-to-date on all these technological advances; i’m a bit backward and overwhelmed at the same time.😔🙃

You're fine! One-handed music has been around for a long time, even since Liszt and Chopin's time. You can see certain examples below: - Alkan's etude for left hand alone: kzfaq.info/get/bejne/b6hkerVeucmzXac.html - Alkan's etude for right hand alone: kzfaq.info/get/bejne/hs1jn6VznLOmnnU.html - Geza Zichy makes Liszt's Liebestraum No.3 for left hand alone: kzfaq.info/get/bejne/pqyDh66YntiReX0.html - And lastly, you should definitely check out Leopold Godowsky's studies on Chopin's etudes. Some are for two hands, but many are for left hand alone. He is my main inspiration: kzfaq.info/get/bejne/ib92rcuf3cuXdYk.html

@@Zdrange03 2 against 3 doesnt really count doe
@varunathilat3 жыл бұрын
wut LOL 2 against 3 is literally a polyrhythm, despite it being basic. That’s like saying 2 + 2 = 4 doesn’t technically count as a math problem. Regardless, thank you for your compliment haha
@sikroboskop31213 жыл бұрын
@@varunathilat i said it doesnt count bcuz it isn't so complicated i know what a polyrhythm is. It's just way too easy compared to other polyrhythms in the piece

Yay, my right hand will be freed up to sip my coffee! Seriously though, what’s the point of the “left-hand only” version? Is it just to enjoy a different sound for the piece, or actually has a practical function? Just curious. Tks Edit: maybe if the player has injured their right hand or something…?
@varunathilat2 жыл бұрын
Left hand only versions allow for technical development/innovation of the left hand and indeed offer a different sound. More pragmatically, there are people who have either injured or even lost one of their hands who benefit from the existence of one-handed piano music. Nicholas McCarthy, for example, is a world-renowned pianist who was only born with one hand.

@@varunathilat TY! Always good to learn something new. I may look up McCarthy too… that’s great.

I hurt the little finger of my right hand but I don't wanna give up practising piano. So I'm looking for left-hand-only pieces.
@themoonfleesthroughclouds2 жыл бұрын
I might arrange the Etudes for the left hand, because funny.
@varunathilat2 жыл бұрын
Leopold Godowsky has already arranged most of the etudes for the left hand alone! Frederic Meinders did Op.25 No.7 and also Op.25 No.11. Wagner Prado did Op.25 No.6 and Nouvelle No.3. And Andrew Komanetsky made a more loyal arrangement of the Op.25 No.11. Feel free to make your own arrangements though :) Couldn’t hurt!
