I did not make violin sheet music for this song. Most violinists should be fine just playing the treble clef from this piano arrangement though.

@@varunathilati’m sorry but you are wrong. This is the song used in the movie: kzfaq.info/get/bejne/sMicoqeUysmnpoE.html and the song you have in the video is not the same. listen to the full song in the link and you can tell that the end of the first part and the part where the melody changes is completely different

@@r3l3x66 Oh wow, I've never heard this version before (or I just didn't pay enough attention to these differences in the movie - except for the last string of notes that tail off the performance, I distinctly remember that). I stand partially corrected! I say partially because it still seems that the audio used in my video is from the movie's _soundtrack._ it's worth noting that the video you shared with me was posted *_after_* I posted my sheet music video, and a bunch of comments on that video are talking about how that version of Song on the Beach wasn't easily searchable until Arcade Fire posted it to their channel. Nevertheless, thank you for sharing this with me! It's really nice hearing a different version of this song :)

A very ingenious transcription that reproduces the rhythm of the original. However, in terms of harmony, is had quite a lot of harmonic support jettisoned during the reduction, which, I guess, was a necessary sacrifice. You know what Godowsky did... right, write multiple transcriptions of the same piece so maybe one could create an alternate version with more focus on the strenous chords.
@varunathilat
@varunathilat Жыл бұрын
Omg, it's you!! Thank you so much :) I actually didn't know that Godowsky did that, but that sounds ingenious! If I had more time, I would surely do that too, but alas :( That being said, the more I listen to this arrangement, the less I like it. Perhaps I (or someone else) can use what's here and build upon it in more sonic ways.
@dylan_s

This is a brilliant and quite resourceful arrangement! To me, it's a shame that the unique left hand rhythm of the original isn't better accentuated throughout the arrangement, even if it meant sacrificing the notes and intricacy of the right hand runs. But that's just one of the trade-offs one has to make when doing an arrangement like this :D
@varunathilat
@varunathilat Жыл бұрын
Yeahhhh, the hardest part was overcoming the gap that the original’s left hand part created 😭 I opted for something similar-ish to the Chopin-Godowsky Study on Op.10 No.4 instead 😅

At 4:07 I would write the 32th triplets in octaves and in the recapitulation I'd assure a continuous net of 32th triplets. Might slightly increase the difficulty of the piece but probably not really significantly. Is this played by a computer? Because the Interpretation is kinda expressive but lacks tension and tempo flexibility. But good arrangement, thanks for the work! I played this piece recently with cello and piano.
@varunathilat
@varunathilat Жыл бұрын
4:07 I wouldn’t want to put octaves there and then not put octaves at 4:10, for consistency’s sake - unless you were implying that you would do that, in which case I would argue that octave 32nd triplets for that long would be really difficult. And for the recapitulation, I had an idea for continuous 32nd triplets to buff out the sound a bit more, but Frederic Meinders told me that it was getting a bit difficult at that point. Anyone who wants to play this can make adjustments as they please lol. And yes, as noted in the description, I made this audio in MuseScore, which would never measure up to a human performance. Thank you for your compliment and suggestions! I played the cello part to this for a competition once, and it provided some great memories :)

Beautiful! I like how LH arrangements make piano sound a bit more like an instrument playing solo, like violin for example, the sound is a bit more 'humble' (or maybe intimate is a better word) Interesting cover, +the midi is really nice with dynamics and nuances, sounds beautiful and calm, made me feel dreamy :D

Yay, my right hand will be freed up to sip my coffee! Seriously though, what’s the point of the “left-hand only” version? Is it just to enjoy a different sound for the piece, or actually has a practical function? Just curious. Tks Edit: maybe if the player has injured their right hand or something…?
@varunathilat
@varunathilat 2 жыл бұрын
Left hand only versions allow for technical development/innovation of the left hand and indeed offer a different sound. More pragmatically, there are people who have either injured or even lost one of their hands who benefit from the existence of one-handed piano music. Nicholas McCarthy, for example, is a world-renowned pianist who was only born with one hand.
