When the war started with the invasion of Poland , my mother told me ( I was 9 at the time in Australia) that this record played continuously during the siege of Warsaw and when it stopped that was the signal that Warsaw had fallen. It would make me proud also . I would like to have heard it played"with the greatest contempt" - a can't think of a polite verbal expression but we all know some of them, including some using fingers, that means "to H... with you". It would only take a little change in cadence in spots and a little louder on certain notes or groups of notes particularly in the introductory theme.
