@@prokastinatore and that´s what people want. "Circus", best lightly dressed, as quickly as possible and preferably with grimaces and wild movements. Only a few care about the beauty and purity of the compositions. Yuliana Avdeeva is really one of a kind and in 50 years of intensively listening to piano works, I have never heard such a fine touch and phrasing, such clarity natural sensivity combined with a perfect technique.

@@arthurenzo3075 I totally agree ! I guess that more and more young people decide to become a "pianist". That's different from being a "musician". The musician studies the score in a non-selfish dimension and tries to work out "the message" of a composer "between" the sheets. I' myself feel very happy with almost 58 years today. After I became a graduated "pianist" , I went to medical school and today I'm a qualified surgeon. After having had a long brake of more than 10 years, I started rehearsing "Goldberg variations" and "Petroucka2 besides the Brahms Paganini -variations and it works better than when I was a "professional"- maybe because there's no pressure of making a living out of it. If you ask me, maestro Yuliana Avdeeva is totally underrated and she deserved also like all former winners to start a big career. As far as I know she is teaching somehow in Switzerland and plays some recitals... But she knows the score and brings out the music and that's the most important thing according to this issue!

That´s it @@prokastinatore but Yulianaq Avdeeva is gradually moving up. I heard her four weeks ago in a small town in front of 300 people (nearly all Yulian Avdeeva experts) and she's playing at the end of September in one of the most well known concert halls in Germany in Dortmund, for which I habe of course tickets. She is becoming more well known and I hope and don´t think it is out of the question that she will get a record deal, which is overdue. But I´m sure that it doesn't matter to her at all, but it does matter to me, because there´s still so much she could record and because it simply belongs in the closet of a real music lover. And fore those who really know her stuff, maestra Yulianna Avdeeva is already one of the greatest. Many greetings from Germany.

Actually not the case. There are many places where it actually happens that notes are missing. For example in the ending scale. The fingering for right hand is 123 1234 for every octave + ending note (a3) she misses every last note(#)of each group 123# 1234#. Another place is 2:24. These 4 bars till 2:32 are only 2 examples

Imagine the pressure of walking up on a stage in front of a huge audience with judges ready to break down everything you do, while also being video recorded from every angle. No wonder most classical artists experience anxiety before going on stage; having to play complex music with complex motions all by memory, WHILE anxious... good lord. Fear of memory slip, fear of hitting wrong notes and be eliminated/humiliated. It might be published on this YT channel where all keyboard warriors of the world may unite and criticize freely.

I feel like the really had it in the beginning, a lot of people play the opening so softly that it almost makes me angry because this etude should have a bitter edge at all times, becoming more and more pronounced. But then, I feel like she sped through it, it's incredible because every note had absolute clarity and most people who speed through it end up muddying the sound but it's not perfect. This is my favorite Chopin piece by far so I'm extra picky.

@@SeabassFishbrains On the whole, I agree, but I think she rushed the intro. It should start out at a slower tempo so that there's more temporal contrast between the opening and the rest of the peace. Otherwise, she was flawless in her delicacy and precision, even while conveying the harshness of a blustery winter in Poland.
