Nice one, so its now the same amount of taps as Hugo2 with a lot of Hugo2 features (not all tho I think). So now time for Hugo2 with TT2 perofmance, TT3 with Daves performance and Dave 2. I hope they will add the hardware eq option to all tiers 🤞
@falcodarkzz

Taps is not some be all measure. The Mojo 1 has more taps than the Hugo 1, but the latter sounds considerably better. There's much more to this than 1 number (unsurprisingly, have a look at the circuitboard in one of these)

@@falcodarkzz yup, that's why Dave on it's own is considered vastly superior to TT2 with Mscaler. What I mean is they are probably starting to refresh their range and I'm really hoping to get high quality hardware EQ in the next TT or at least Hugo. I just like my sound dirty 😂

I always preffered my Apple dongle to my Mojo for all my headphones and especially iems. The Mojo was too tamed on the highs. According to what I understood from your video, it's even worse, but it's possible to EQ it. Anyway the Mojo is such a nicely made device and physicaly satisfying.

I don't see what the size of the device has to do with soundstage. It's not like the sound is bouncing around inside the box.
@Soundnews
@Soundnews Жыл бұрын
It has to do with the capacitors that are storing power and unleash that power when the sound needs to increase or decrease its size, it's extremely important when reaching crescendo moments, or when dynamics are trying to get nuts. Big units can have big capacitance and a really good voltage regulation and filtration that adds transparency to the sound. Small units don't have the physical space for a healthy capacitance or voltage filtration. Yes, it has do to with the size of the units. Big units will always sound big for the above mentioned reasons.

@Chris Parker Hai What headphones do you have? and are you happy with the sound that you have now? I have used a new fiio K3 220mw on 2.5mm (with a sudara) and wanted something more because i to thought that i missed something in the music. Now i have a Fiio K9 pro with 2.1watt for that same headphone, and yes i did hear allot of difference but all small ones (it`s like the K3 was gasping for air traying to get te most out of my sundara but could not do it. Now with my k9 everything just sounds easy and full were the sound with the k3 was there but thinn (It just could not do it). I`m very happy with it, but i to liked the K3 (i did not know better) I`ts allot of small things if you want to upgade, but if you like the sound stay with what you have. I`ts also about good files (Flac - wav - dsd or a good rip of a cd 1411 kbs) If you just listen to spotify or even deezer highress, the difference is much smaller (because the bitrate is much lower even though it says 1411kbs or what not. The same with a blueray disc or a stream of the same 1080p movie (on is 40gb ps the other 8, but still 1080p) Hope this helps :) have a great day.

@Soundnews
@Soundnews 2 жыл бұрын
You don't seem to understand how output stages on amplifiers are working, but that's perfectly fine. The size and quality of the amp stage directly influences the damping factor and ultimately the stage size as well.
@rktrkt-tw8nd
@rktrkt-tw8nd 2 жыл бұрын
@@Soundnews best not to use any term just for the heck of it. Damping factor is dependent upon output impedance and it has one of the lowest output impedance you would ever see in any portable device so it has a very high damping factor. With headphones better depth perception translates into less width that's it. Better you test this in a speaker set up or even use it as a dac to your amp which will reduce depth perception slightly thus increasing width perception.

Even Chord Dave sound similar to Mojo, in that it doesn't sound warmer or boosted in the bass or on lower mids. It just has more definition, more notes, more resolution in the time domain. I think you guys are way too used to distorsion and busy sound from other brands. Well when there is no distorsion, you don't hear it, you also don't get grain, clipping, "blendiness", fuzzyness, and so on. You hear the most clean notes, but you're not used to that. You want everything to sound warm, if you could add 10 db below 1khz, it will be perfect. Like Audeze. Warm and nothing else. Just a 10 db lower shelf if possible. On everything, on every song, on every source. Now Chord decided to please the kids who want a non-flat frequency response. Now the kids can change the EQ on every song. Instead of listening to the whole album without touching the DAC, like it happened with Mojo 1. Even Chord Dave is considered by many as not "able" to fully drive headphones... how in the world ? Well, people want boosted lower mids. But Chord wanted to give a flat frequency response and that means no distorsion, but kids want lower mids distorsion. But that wasn't enough. For the kids. Now the kids may be happier with Mojo 1. Bring that lower mids boost. So now their headphones can sound full. What about buy bookshelf speakers and tie them to your head? It will sound much fuller than a 2 inch headphone driver. Way more dynamic. How is possible that 8 inch driver sound more dynamic and more powerfull than a 2 inch driver ? :mindblowing: Of course a 2 inch driver will sound compressed in the bass even at 130 dB... but you still increase that volume pot to get more bass, like you want to get to a 8 inch driver capability. "You don't get big soundstage from such a small product" Wow, what a line. Then we need 20 pounds DACs for big soundstage. You can ban me, I don't care. Lots of stupid people in this hobby.
