If you like choreo, their FIRE dance practice is really cool. They are really famous in the US. Selling out stadiums here. But the real thing is that they are famous and popular due to themselves and NOT through mediaplay/pr and the mainstream media. Usually the media and the radio TELLS us who is famous and by doing so, they make people famous. BTS never had that, in 2015 they had super high sales but since they weren’t from a big music label, it was ignored by Korean media. Where they are now is Korean award shows NEED them for ratings and honestly the best performance (live mics), but they have to appease the bigger labels that have more groups/artists in their company. So they do a BUNCH of shady shit in order to not let BTS take all the spotlight bc they’ll get boycotted by the other labels. In the US, big labels saw BTS’ success 🤑🤑 but couldn’t get a piece of that pie so the signed up other groups. Those groups aren’t as popular but they get pushed on the radio and streaming playlists more than BTS. They get on US shows not bc they are as popular in the US as BTS but bc they have these deals and their labels want them to look successful in the US. It’s a shame bc they should first BE actually successful in the US so they can sell out full arenas instead of making the seating #s smaller and pretending they are selling out. All that they are doing is wasting money in the US and losing touch with their ardent fans in the Asian countries. Promoters aren’t going to want to book more of those kpop groups if they keep doing things in that backward way. Sorry that was so long but there is a very long history.
