My mother in law made these but cut slices into them & filled them with beans & cheese rather than adding it to the dough along with whatever she had leftover like you did. She passed away recently and I miss her so so very much! When my own mum died she came to fill the void left & while we had always been close that's when we became nearly inseparable. One of my most favorite ever people on the face of this earth. That woman could cook like crazy & make a feast from an assortment of scraps. I love Gorditas!

Girl let me start by saying Thank You, I stumbled across your channel and I’m so glad I did. I made this last night and my family loved it. Now I’m in California & my parents are from Texas. My husband from Mexico. My Mom past a few years ago. She taught me a lot. She was a great cook. I never made this before so I thought I’d give it a try. I was making Pupusas so I thought this would be great too. Well my 90 yr old Dad loved them ! He said it reminded him of his Mom & my Mom’s cooking. Huge compliment from him. My husband loved them too. He said it reminded him of home. I was floored because they’re pretty picky. I will be making these again. The rest of the Familia were like so when are you making those again? Lol I think we have a new favorite comida.
