michael88863 Not true megadeth has good music also. They are many good guitar players and chris enjoys both styles so it is in his heart to do both. ofcourse the classical music did sound better to me as well if he were to shred on acoustic it would naturally sound better anyway than the distortion he had on that amp.

I was in the same guitar program as Chris at Lamont conservatory.. I remember him telling me he was friends with some of the Nevermore crew, its been crazy to watch his career unfold.. I will never forget the night I went to see megadave at the fillmore in Denver knowing he had a knew guitar player and thinking gee this guys looks kinda familiar.. When Dave announced who it was my jaw hit the floor! Mad props to ya for making that it brother!! I used to think nobody would ever bring as much to the table as Marty friedman but Chris is sick player.. I should have been studying with him and Ricardo Izanaola..

Extremely talented guy. I think Megadeth is the only metal band that could challenge him technically. Megadeth is way better than most people are aware of so it is a perfect match for him.

weird thing is: I saw this video a while back and here i was taking a break from practicing Vals Venezolano 3 for my college audition and I stumble upon this. Suddenly I realize that's the song he plays on classical. I know this is not valid input. But it was a crazy coincidence and I had to share it.

Gotta say, I have a ton of respect for Chris. I'm currently studying classical guitar and dang it is hard, as hard as piano I'd say, you have to split your mind and think so much about the expression of the music. It forces you to have a degree of control most electric guitarists never even think about. It opens your eyes to the possibilities of music

Funny thing is Chris Broddick just isn't known for his Metal riffs & Licks alone but primarily Classical & Classics in which he is prolific. Guitar is Guitar be it Megadeth or Bach unless we are talking about rap. I Met Chris once while with Megadeth he is a great humble down to earth guy who has a huge passion for guitar and classical & it shows!

It's a thumb pick. It's like a ring for the thumb that holds the pick. It allows you to use four fingers on your picking hand to finger tap. If you watch "Chris Broderick: Betcha can't play this" on youtube, you'll see why.

I think they should use more of his talents in classics and the others styles he's familiar with in Megadeth. The solo part in Beginning of Sorrow is just a small but delicious demonstration of what he is able to. C'mon, Dave, use Chris' skills!

I loved the vals he played: beautiful. But I love too the great solos he has for example:Sudden death, how the story ends or 44 minutes. This video just wanted to compare a soft sweet sound, that is provided for the classical guitar in front of a heavier hard one which comes from the electric guitar. In MEGADETH there had been great guitarist putting the best of them on the works and I pretty much appreciate the great work Broderick is doing. *Sorry if there are any mistakes in the writting.

I saw him mention it in a video once, he designed it himself I think and it allows him to easily switch between tapping, finger picking and using the plectrum.

I'm just taking a guess at this, but I would assume that , as an add, the first half is establishing Chris's credibility as a musician. The second half is to let you know what kind of electric guitar a brilliant musician would choose to play.. It's too bad they didn't mic the amp he was using, instead of just using the camera mic. Would be a more powerful selling tool if they would have put a little more effort into the audio production.

How exactly do you guys measure the feeling and how good the solos are to say that Chris Broderick is "miles below" anybody? What is for sure is that Chris is miles above Marty in sense of technique. And as about his solos "Dialectic Chaos" alone fully demonstrates his beautiful soloing skills.
