In this video Rob takes the truck to meet Chris where he has purchased another Classic car which has been off the road for quite a few years.
Working at our fully equipped workshop in Kent we carry out tasks including Panel beating, Body work, Mig Welding, Sheet metal Spot Welding, Fabrication, Chassis Repairs, Sand Blasting, Engine and Mechanical repairs, Reconditioning, Restoration and Structural repairs on the Celette Jig Dozer frame machine.
We do hope you enjoy this video and Check out our other videos on all kinds of Cars Vans Motorcycles and vehicles including Barn finds, Quick flips, First wash, Repairs, Salvage, Restorations, Will it run, Accident damaged, Cat S, Cat N, Cat X Copart Auction bargains, Non Runner and anything else that arrives at the #Salvagerebuildsuk workshop. #RobandChris
We do receive quite a few questions regarding tools and equipment that we use for various jobs. Unfortunately there is too many to list but some of the brands we use include Snap-on, Blue-point, Makita, Sealey, Clark, Esab and Sykes-Pickavant.
If you are interested in a specific tool, please put your question in the comments section of the relevant video.

Rob and Chris - well that was absolutely brilliant, I haven’t laughed so much for a long while! My wife asked what I was watching so I played the first five odd minutes again with her watching - seeing her face begin to smile was a picture!! (Rob said have you seen the size of these spiders? I don’t like big spiders!!) 😂 The Viva looked great, I thought it was going to be a Ford Anglia! The reason so many people love your vids is because we all wish it was us doing and living the life you two do! Please continue to do what you both do because it’s fantastic!!

I can remember growing up in NY the local Pontiac Cadillac dealer in town did sell some Vauxhall Victor's and I remember them running around. I always liked the size as they made more sense then the big full sized cars we had. And I'm sure being NY, if kept there, they must have rotted out fast. When the US compacts came out in 1960 I was surprised how sensible they were. When the NY Worlds Fair opened in 1964 1965 I was lucky enough to go there several times. First stop was always the GM pavilion. I have black and white photos of the "other" GM cars that were offered overseas. They had Vauxhalls, Opels and Holdens there. Holden? What's that? It was the sensible size of the Viva and Opel Kadett I always enjoyed. To show my appreciation for these sensible sized cars I own 6 Chevy II and Novas from 1962 (the 1st year) to 1976. So I understand Chris's fondness for Viva's. There's just something about them, you just have to have some nice ones. Thanks for saving the Viva.
@johndavey72
@johndavey72 3 жыл бұрын
Hi Michael. The Holden was another GM owned car manufacturer in Australia. They were very rugged as many of the roads were and are dirt track. They were large by European standards. In later years they used small block V8's. Like many car makers the Japanese imports killed the home market. I think Holden wound up in the '90's but if you Google Holden , Australia l'm sure you'll find all you need to know. Hope all is well with you and yours . I guess if you still live in N.Y. life has been very stressful. Take care and stay safe.

My first ever drive of a car was on a private estate with the game keeper in his green HA version of one of these. We took that van everywhere over fields and terrain usually with half a ton of grain in the back to boot as well. It never missed a beat. I use to love the simplicity of it. Your video has brought back some lovely memories for me of a time when life was just that bit more carefree . Would be great to see this little lady get going again.

I had a viva van back in the early seventies I always liked the very short gearshift lever. when the car was first introduced it was a good competitor to the Anglia a lot of people used to clean there cars with washing up liquid and put it in the screen wash this used to cause a lot of rust issues as it removed polish and damaged the paint surface

Love the old Viva's, had two HC's in the 80s as my first cars.Still regret selling them but as a teenager I'd ragged them to death. Always wanted the Viva Firenza but never had the funds. Now I'd love to pick one up but they're as rare as hens teeth ! Jealous.

My first car was an HC. Pretty reliable for the day. It finally ran out of compression after years of work so we found a wreck with a recent rebuilt engine. Gas axed it out and dropped it in mine. It never went so well, haha. I'd love to drive one again just to feel that weird notchy gearbox

Back in the day I had lots of Vauxhalls mostly big Crestas but one thing they all had in common rust I had a 1960 cresta only four years old but had rust holes in it this one of yours must have been well looked after to last this long first job on the list lots of waxoyl everywhere.

In the late seventies I had a Cresta with a 3.3 straight six and bench seat in the front. It was hidden in the back of a dealers lot because it was running lumpy. I paid £140 for it. Turned out the head gasket had blown between two of the cylinders which cost me £30 to get fixed. Lovely car, flew like a bird.

Lovely video lads. There must be thousands of old cars quietly sleeping in garages and barns around the country waiting to be rescued. While watching this I suddenly remembered the lad next door owns one of these in the same colour! How about that then. I do remember changing a clutch on one about 50 years ago and it was a pig of a job, there was this big torsion bar under the gearbox which was threatening to let go and take my head off!

In 1968 I got my hands on a 1967 Vauxhall Viva Brabham, one of the two that had been imported in Canda by GeneralMotors for evaluation purposes. What a great little sleeper. Twin SU carbs, ported heads, exhaust headers, Koni shocks, etc. Capable of close to 100 mph. MGBs could not believe what was happening to them. Your video has brought back some great memories.
