Famed engine builder Chris Holbrook gives us the first look at his amazing 7-second Holley EFI Factory X Ford Performance Mustang. His Ford is powered by a Coyote-based engine that revs to 10,200 rpm and makes 1,500 horsepower.

Very cool Evan. I love all the younger generation Ford guys who grew up watching their parents and grandparents running them. Tasca and Holbrook are iconic names in the sport and the fact these guys are keeping Ford relevant warms this old man's heart. Thanks. This was a great video and I wish Chris all the best in his endeavors. "It only takes one Ford to put a hundred Chevys back on the trailer."-Bob Glidden

Elephant Ears and Base Plate is the same technology we used 43 years ago at Atco. Goodness Gracious those Coyotes love high revs. I would love to see the bearings after the tear down and do a tensile strength on the main studs and head bolts. Technology except for existing premises have really changed. Great Video Evan Good Hunting Chris Thank You 🙏

Brent lesala has a green drag and drive coyote powered mustang that runs low, like in the teens 6s in the quarter on a 275 or 315 radial. Theres a complete teardown video of the race winning engine on youtube and shows just how much (how little really) is done to the block and heads to survive shifting at 10k rpm and still being driven 1000s of miles pulling a trailer

I gave up on Pro Stock several decades ago when they essentially became Funny Cars with NA engines. Factory X is a move in the right direction. I only wish the rules dictated that the teams started with a body-in-white. It's essential that the ultimate doorslammer class have as stock a body as possible (I realize that BOP is a difficult target).

When Factory Stock started out, the Fords ruled until the NHRA changed the rules to help the Chevies and the Dodges. Now, in FX, it seems to be the same story of mostly Chevies winning. But I might be wrong and they are winning because there are Pro Stock teams in FX with more assets than the smaller Ford teams.

Show me a time when NHRA didn’t handicap the Mopar and Ford teams? They pushed the Hemi out of pro stock in the early 70’s and killed the small blocks because GM had no answer for the Cleveland by the early 80’s.
@bobuncle870417 күн бұрын
I know it’s supposed to “level the playing field”, and make a “good show” for the fans, but I really dislike this BOP garbage. In the IMSA GTD3 class, they’ve definitely cut the heart out of the Ford cars. Sooo frustrating.
@stevenbesson898817 күн бұрын
@@bobuncle8704 BoP is complete BS, but it is the only way to keep the manufacturers in line. NHRA on the other hand has handicapped the “stock” classes so bad that Mopar and Ford have pulled out aside from this factory X class. NHRA has become a huge joke.
@mchristr17 күн бұрын
@@stevenbesson8988 I know what you're saying but it was impossible for the Chevrolet small-block to compete with the Cleveland, especially when Roush, Glidden, et al began machining off the exhaust side of the head and adding a raised port plate. @@KingJT80 They definetly have to have something different. Seems like you always hear about someone shreading or atleast tossing a belt when revved that high. All most makes me think thats also why they launch at such lower RPMs, not because of tire size or traction but because the belt wouldnt make it on the chip at 7000RPM.
