30 years ago he broke my heart when asked: "why do you drink?" And through a very sad voice he replied: "because it makes me happy." Glad to see he's still alive.

It was a very sad interview especially with his mom sandy sitting there having to listen to him talk about self destructing…as a mom myself that would be very hard..thank god he got clean and hasn’t drank since 96-97

@@rehlinho From Penelope ""By the way, the first half of the bottle of vodka was real, and after that he was filling it up with pool water." When he was drinking from the bottle it was vodka, then was filled up with pool water when he poured it over his head... That's my understanding of it anyway from what has been said about it....

Around 3 years ago I emailed his wonderful wife for a photo of Chris since I have been a huge fan since the mid 80's. Within a couple weeks a hand signed photo from Chris was sent to my door. This adorns my business office and is one of my favorite pieces and I get many questions about it. Soon after I had to go into the hospital for a life-saving (planned) surgery. My recovery was long and I was unable to continue my correspondence but if they happen to read this I want them to know their personal reach out to the fans is amazing because you never know what someone may be going through and when a guy like Chris reaches out, it can mean the world to them as it did me. As for me now, I'm 51 and in very good health and a very successful business man but will always bring the "mean man" attitude to the board room. Thanks Chris and take care.

I just watched the unedited version of the whole interview. They edited the scene in with his Mom looking at him "drowning" so to speak. But the interview showed a really loving and accepting mother. She was asked if he'd die before 30 and she quickly said, "No, he won't. I'm always behind him." She was telling him to knock it off when he was being too much and he said, "ok". Very very adorable their love and relationship in the extended versions. Proud mom. Not sure if she's still alive, but she said he'd be ok. 2017 says she's right!

A great interview with an honest and genuine guy. I had the honour of meeting Chris when he played London a year or so ago, and he treated me as someone he had known all his life. We spoke for 10 minutes or so and we could have talked for hours, he gave me his time, and never once acted like a 'big rock star'. I went to see him play just after and it was one of the best gigs I have ever been to, 'Fuck like a Beast', 'Wild Child', and all the best tracks from his Mean Man albums. Rock Stars like Chris are few and far between, especially amongst the younger ones...I have a ticket for his forthcoming London gig, if you see me come and say hi...My profile pic is really me.

I remember when I saw The Decline of Western Civilization 2 when it was released in 1988 and I remember seeing Chris in the "pool scene". I was a huge WASP fan and after that I felt sad because I thought for sure Chris was going to be a dead man real soon. I can't believe he's still here but I'm so glad he got sober and still kicking ass with great music!! Long live Chris Holmes!!!

I drink a bit. Only when I'm off work the next day. I have massive respect for problem drinkers who've quit for a very long time. My dad did it and accomplished it, too. Chris Holmes: sober since 1996. MASSIVE RESPECT!

Very good man! I'm glad you're still here. You gave up drinking so many years ago. Now your career is starting up again. Congrats man! Btw I like your playing more every time I listen. Keep jamming and stay metal!
